SIM AI matchups? Topic

I see alot of coaches talk about that SIM AI matches are very easy compared to Human coaches. Is there a reason for this? I haven't seen a big distinction between the 2? I have had some losses on previous teams to SIM AI that I should of won in conference play but is there something specific that all SIM AI coaches have in common that make them considered "easier matchups?"

They all have the exact same game plan, and they can be easy to predict.

is that game plan even distribution to all starters? What does that game plan look like and make it easy to predicT?

Usually the SIM AI teams get the dreggs for recruiting so player's on similar prestige teams are inferior to ones on most human controlled teams.  Simmy also always plays Normal tempo and +0 positioning so this can be exploited as well.  They will also not break pattern so later in the season you can see which players are getting distro and those that aren't and adjust your defense accordingly.

ahh gotcha, so basically facing a simmy later in the season you can see exactly how their offense will run and who to shut down and who to give distro on your team basically. Tempo and +/- is non factor when looking at who your distro will go to . Gotcha. Thanks!

They will keep the same depth chart and distribution the entire season. What buddhagamer said is what also makes it easy to predict.

its the recruiting thing. the thing is, most human coaches do the same thing every game, too. predictability wise, at least in the regular season (and how many sims do you play in meaningful post season matches?), i dont agree at all thats really the issue - thats not even a meaningful part, its negligible. the issue is the sim recruits awesomely bad players and then plays them. the actual sim base game plan is better than plenty of human coaches, it seems to me. they get a lot out of their good players, it sort of depends on the type of team, but some teams sims do play pretty nicely. the problem is, even with those teams, their top players are usually mediocre. i've left d1 teams with few openings and had the sim take them (mid majors) to a couple NTs and a PIT or something along those lines - better than many humans would do. i've also left behind bcs jobs that others could walk into and compete for a title, with 6 openings and some great local recruits, and the sim instantly destroys the program, by recruiting 6 players who are just god awful. im not saying they are good at game planning or anything - but its the awful recruiting that accounts for most of the sucking. oh, they also do a terrible job setting depth chart, by listed position or something (hey, isnt that something that could be affected by seble's changes?). i actually don't know they really do listed position, but others have said it, and i never cared to check. but sometimes their starting lineup is straight up retarded. that is also part of it - but that falls firmly in the team setup camp, has nothing to do with predictability.

I've taken over a 'bad' sim team and improved them dramatically before by just changing their depth chart. Another bit is the team practice matrix for sim teams is rather inefficient ... For example, spending zero minutes on lp for guards even though lp now matters for guards. One of the first things I do taking over a previously sim controlled team is loo for guards with unexploited high potential in lp. There is quite often at least one or two.
