What is the highest rating of a DII recruit have you ever got with a C- prestige?

As far as what I've read and see from the FAQ and other coaches, prestige mostly matters for when recruits become available and when they are willing to talk to you, but with effort (SV's) they can be slowly forced into being interested into your program but it takes more than say an A+ school. So highest rating I'm unsure there really is a ceiling? I'm new though so don't trust me...

I don't know if there is a "ceiling" but there is a limit (if that makes any sense).  A+ guys can see better recruits early.  They may even be able to see better recruits as a whole also but don't quote me on that one.  The difference is, and bagger is correct on this, how early you see them.  But, it isn't like a guy that is a solid D1 slips through unnoticed to D2 or D3 guys if they don't have the prestige.  Once you get the "no" from the coach or recruit without being a backup plan, they will never "slip" to your prestige level and you can never pull them down as I have been told.

As far as the OP's question, I'm sure there is a highest rated recruit, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it is the best recruit.

Also too a C- D1 school from what I've read still trumps A+ D2 because on the engine side D1 > D2 regardless of Prestige however I've heard of cases where a D2 steals a recruit from a D1 but I believe that's based off recruiting effort.

what about a C- DIII school. What is the highest that could be pulled down?

I don't think there is a limit, Honestly at that Prestige I'd look at drop downs, I have been easily able to snatch a few up at D3. The difference is Pull-downs are recruits that are influenced by scouting visits to consider your school (I believe the minimum is something like 14-16 SV) and a Drop-down is where you call a recruit/Coach and he tells you that you are a backup option, at that point you wait. Until you get an email that says something like "Hey coach just talked to the family and i'd like to hear about the program because I'm not getting the attention i thought I was getting." Drop downs don't require as much work as a pull-down so you can save budget if your not an A+ high budget school.

A tactic I'll use is sending out calls to a list of guys I want then waiting a day or 2 and seeing who drops. Also remember some recruits never drop and also sometimes it takes beyond the signing period for them too drop. Once you get the email your free to go use whatever on them (Campus visits home visits).

Once you get over 450, they are less likely to talk to you.

There are factors that raise the bar though like being ineligible, location, and position.

Thanx. Getting ready for an offseason in which I will be flush but rebuilding with a C- prestige school in Allen. Postseason is a long shot so I am trying to get a jump on recruiting.
