When a player complains about minutes we really need an option, if for no other reason than it makes us feel better, to tell the kid to stop being such an idiot. I would like to reply "Hey dumbass you are on the #4 team in the nation behind a 3 year starter. Sit back and enjoy the ride and stop being such a <profanity>fuck</profanity> stick."

As a retired real life coach in 20 years I never increased a player's PT because of complaint. I sat him down explained why he was where he was at and told him hat he had to do to get more time. My players always determined there own playing time. If he pouted and his WE dropped, he paid the consequences. His WE had to actually IMPROVE to get more PT. HD has it bassackwards! If they want to have it right, have them tell you they are disappointed in playing time, so are going to commit to trying harder and have their WE INCREASE! Sometimes you wonder between the programmer and whoever they consult, if their is enough coaching experience to run the game.

seems to me people would find ways to abuse the crap out of that. i suspect that is why they do it the way they do it now... also, they'd have to make work ethic matter in games to really have the kind of situation you are describing take place. i don't think it was a bad idea to strip out work ethic into a practice-only category, its already pretty important, don't want it to be overpowered in importance (other games seem to do the same, or don't have work ethic even as a practice category).

im not so much disagreeing with you as saying, i don't think it is straight forward, as you suggest.

I don't disagree with you either GP1. I was merely pointing out just another way the game is opposite of RL to make it work as a game. Sorry, I probably wasn't very clear. I just get frustrated sometime at some of the silliness that is required to make the game work. Another example is the triangle offense. There is no such thing in the  collegiate game. There is a "2" man and a "3" man game but no triangle. The triangle is a pro offense that exists to take advantage of pro defensive rules which do no exist in the college game. How about a very simple Pick-n-Roll instead?

Anyway sorry I ran off topic. I still greatly enjoy playing the game. I admire you guys who can focus on looking at this game from a gamer point of view while I may never be really good at it because my basketball instincts tend to get in the way sometime. Perhaps over time and with input like yours, I can become better at it. Thanks for your comments!

Vegas, not sure what you are talking about.  There  is triangle in the college game.  Especially in the women's game.
