Granted it was D3, but this guy did ok by his senior year. www.whatifsports.com/hd/PlayerHistory/Ratings.aspx

I think it's a mistake to completely write-off any player who has elite potential on either side of the ball. Heck, Holley even managed a steal per game in zone defense.

that guy has 97 spd to 80+ for op, his def is 35 not 22, and its D3...

OPs player is a D2 liability.

He Will be prolly 22 ath, 22 def, 80+ speed, 100 per, 80+ bh as a senior. Passing 50 ish
I don't play in Div-3.  In Div-2, I don't even look at players who will not be at least 50 on DEF.  So that would be 40 with black, 25 with Blue, or 50 with Red on DEF as a recruit.  At Div-1, you want guys with at least 70 DEF.

WRT ATH, I would take a Guard who had a lower ATH, as long he has good SPD.

In the aejones thread on how to win at d2/d3, he says ATH+SPD should be 120 for guards.  I don't really look at that specifically, but I do something similar to player roles.  Looking at most of my D-2 teams though, almost all my guards are > 120 for ATH+SPD .. and the lowest projected ATH for any guard is 39 and his speed is projected at 95.

Right .. that is his guide, 120 for d3 and add 20 for d2.

I don't know if this is in his guide but depending on what guard position the combination of 120/140 might be different for example a 50 ath 70 spd would be better than a 60/60 ath/spd at playing pg assuming bh/pas are same.
