BH for LP/ATH type scorers Topic

I am thinking about signing a SF that will have 70 ATH and 85 LP.....Normally, I would think this guy would be a pretty efficent scorer from the SF position......However, he will only have a speed and BH around 25, is that a deal breaker?....will he be a turnover machine?

Well, how is your BH/pass for your guards? I find if you are going to have a low bh for your SF, you need to be able to compensate somewhat in the guards. If Tharis respectable, then you can take the few extra turnovers at SF in order to get the extra scoring.

Does he not have the REB to play the stretch 4? And is this concerning your fastbreak D3 team?

No....and D2 Triangle/M2m....he would be one of my three main scorers as a jr/sr.

He sounds like a Juan Samuel to me.  Obvious strengths, but what do you do with him?  I think he's a liability against the press in particular.

I would say you could find a better fit for a high-prestige DII team. If he could rebound decently, I might bring him off the bench to score at the 4 with a dominant second-string rebounder at the 5. But I think you'd be disappointed with the results as he is.

This guy could score decently, but averaged 3 TOs a game.

If his speed is 25 that is a killer for a SF. If it was just the bh I would say you could get by. What rebounding doeS he have?

What division is this at?

I don't see any problems with this guy scoring. Sure, you'd like the ball handling to be higher, but unless you're at DI  or planning to use him as a PG, I think it's not necessary to worry about it.

In fact, I'd be happy to recruit an SF every single season if he had potential of ATH of 70, a LP of 85, and a BH of 25 (assuming there are no other glaring red flags).

This guy is a trap player with no upside. He kills you against the press. Your playing man so most of the time he won't be able to defend the other teams SF. My current DII SF has a 91 speed. I would love to see a 25 speed player against him. Even the slow Sfs at DII will have double this guys speed.

He could score 10 ppg but compared to what he gives up in turnovers, fouls, and just underperforming defense this guy is just a net megative

Thanks everyone, I went a different route...
