Disgusted Coach Topic

On a business trip and have no access to the web and I come back late after last seasons tournament and see that I have other coaches applying for my job. fine. I lose it to a coach with 1 season under his or her belt and they inherited a very successful team that made the sweet 16 the season before. I'm told that he or she won the job because they have a better success rate than I do?? How the hell can that be when the teams players were not even the majority of players they recruited as of yet?? My team has almost everyone coming back and they were all recruited by myself... grrr This game isnt cheap and it is time I guess we enjoy to spend putting into it and this is complete bullshit!

Has anyone else came across this issue with this game?

You were not fired, right .. your team went away because you failed to maintain extras seasons in Manage Seasons.

If you knew you were going to out of town and you wanted to keep the team, you should have put a extra seasons on them in manage seasons.

Once you lost the team, other people can apply before rollover to get them.

I understand that and it was my fault for not handling extra time. I applied again and lost the job to a coach that achieved winning with basically someone else's players his one and only season. That's what I'm saying. I don't see how his resume is better than mine in the big picture.

i think the gist of what rizenoble is saying is "yep i screwed up forgetting to renew, but i still came back before it was too late to throw my name in the ring for the same job....and how the heck can my resume be considered worse than a guy with 1 season??"

and i agree with him

Exactly bathtubhippo! I was told the system can not recognize coaches on board with teams that have players recruited by other coaches. For instance; im a new coach D3 and inherited a team that has no players graduating and I go through season with winning record and go to NT and win a game or two. My success rate should about trump a majority of coaches in D2 the following season even if its a team you don't own... Go figure that out!? That's basically what CS told me.

Huge Flaw imo

At first I was like, mheeee, but the more I think about it the more I kinda agree...especially given that your coach Loyalty and Reputation had to of been much higher (assuming you hadn't done anything to negatively affect them).

agreed. there are about a dozen posts on the subject here every month, its one of the few glaring weaknesses that is almost universally agreed upon.

i hope you will give it a shot, to continue with another squad! it really sucks but just think, if you hate losing this team, after not that long, imagine how fun one you get for a long time would be? the game does have some pretty screwed up stuff but also is really well done in some areas, far above anything else out there. we all pretty much had to wrestle with if we could tolerate the unusually large amount of BS, to enjoy all the great parts of the game, at one time or another (or a few times... or continuously through our entire careers, for some of us). but hey, maybe you can get yours out of the way early? :)

Both were A+. Although I had a player leaving due to lack of start time. But I dont think that would have been the deal breaker. Ugh, just moving on now but just wanted to voice this issue.

Has happened to me in the past....You are not even good enough for the program you are building!  Just don't do that at D1.  The part that sucks most about the process at D1 is you usually get pushed back to D2 because you are also not qualified to be at the D1 level once you lose the job.

I have no time to debate this forum so please don't waste my time or your own. I asked a simple question that's all. Thank you

I believe he was echoing your complaint, not arguing with you
