exporting recruit search list w/potential to excel Topic

when potential was first added to the game i was able to export the recruit search results into excel. WIS then changed the potential coloring from green/red to the colors they are now for the benefit of us color blind. i was one of the people who requested the change - and likely one of people who benefited the most (i couldn't see that there were two different colors before the change). the drawback is that the colors no longer export into excel or word...

does anyone know a workaround for this? i tried printing the search results into adobe and then copy pasting from there, but between each rating are spaces instead of tabs, so it doesn't convert into a table. any other ideas?

I copy and paste into google sheets and then manually input potential calculations like this Google sheet

trying to find a way to do this without having to manually inputting anything. looking for a copy paste option so i can then sort.

I use the "compare list" tool on the 'recruiting summary' tab.  Add the max of 10 guys to the list and copy/paste into Excel.  You'll need to copy/paste multiple times to include all the players on your watch list.  And this works with Chrome-haven't had any luck with the colors translating over using IE.

If you use Google Chrome, the colors will copy/paste  into Excel.  You may get a message like, "The size of your selection doesn't match your data", but as long as the Excel area is larger than your selection size, it'll be OK

Any chance you're using an older version of Excel?

I meant colors don't come through if I copy / paste from the search to excel. Didn't try your method yet. It's 2010 excel.

Did you only paste values for some reason?

use yatzr's recruiting tool to import, and export from there (or just move your formulas into his tool)

I've been copy/pasting from the Search page to Excel for years with no problem.  As I said, I use Google Chrome.   I'm currently using Excel 2013 but it's worked on every version since they made the "color blindness" changes a few years ago.

When I copy/paste from Internet Explorer, however, I only get shades of gray.

I'm also copying from chrome. I've not been able to do this since the change, regardless of the browser or excel version. I've not tried 2013 though.

you don't need the paid version of yatzr's tool to get that info out of it either

Chrome works for me when I use recruit compare and paste 10 at a time. IE and Firefox do not work though, for the colors.

I can copy and paste 50 at a time from recruiting/search directly into Excel 2010 and preserve the potential colors using Chrome.
