... his SOS at the end of non-conference play is 493 or so.
Most of these have been good, but this one I would contest. There are at least two reasons that a good coach could have a horrendous non-con SOS. (1) They could've forgotten to schedule. (2) They could be trying to bank 10 wins in non-con to try to get prestige up in the early stages of a rebuild.

his rationale for every coaching decision is 'but that's how Kentucky plays.'

Hey now.

Speaking of Tarvolon:

... is interviewed by WiS but doesn't list Davis as his coaching idol or as a member of his 5-person roundtable discussion.

By the way, I have requested a collection of Lafferty short stories from the local library as a result of reading your interview.  Always happy to find another good author.  I thought it might be better to start with those than with a novel.

..he'll recruit any player that he can find from his own high school
In fact, I recruited and signed a player from my daughter's high school recently.  (But he was actually a player I wanted!)  My daughter just finished her junior year but claimed not to know him.  Which I don't see how that happens considering he scored about 30 a game in high school.

You say to yourself, "eh, I'm sure yesterday's settings will be just fine", even though you don't remember what they were.

hmmm.....so she doesn't know a big sports star??!?   Sounds like she has a crush on him and doesn't want parental questioning
