Updates doesn't matter at this point Topic

Seble I'd highly recomend making another "fake" admin account and then tell us to blame him so we take all our hate onto him instead of you.

You are pretty good at dealing with all the hate and abuse given and maintain a great sense of humor.

what was your question tarvolon?

the0nlyis, I was saying YOU AND I, ETC, type faster than SEBLE...
Is distance going to be a factor in sending CVs or HVs with the new update? And if not, is there anything stopping the guy 2000 miles away with 3 openings from just dominating the local team with 1 opening?
If the plan is to give every D1 team X amount of CVs and Y amount of HVs per opening (or maybe total, I don't remember), then I assumed distances wouldn't matter and recruiting would be on a more national level.  Maybe I misinterpreted what Seble was saying or trying to accomplish?

**Full disclaimer, I haven't read through ALL of the proposed changes just yet; I wasn't able to keep up the last couple of days**

I think you are correct darnoc. However, I wonder if scouting longer distances (at least at D2 and D3) may not be feasible. Sure, you could hold a camp to get limited data and make recruits visible, but the higher level scouting may be too expensive to get at potentials for many of the players... Maybe more easily accomplished on D1 budgets to scout long distance

that was an impressive post per minute rate theonlyis.

That was my assumption too. I am concerned that it makes # of openings even MORE important. So rather than making it less of an auction dictated by who has the most cash, it makes it more of one. Which would go against one of the main stated reasons for the change.

I think this is what he has in mind. We'll just have to see how it works out in practice.

This would make sense.  The "scouting" changes thread is the one I haven't really read through, so you're probably right on distance being a bigger factor here.

The more I read about this update, the less impressed I am and the more I am leaning towards joining the exodus of long-time coaches.

Seble just really doesn't seem to be clued in to how this game currently operates and what makes it fun for those who prefer D2/D3.  His answers in the developer chat make him sound like someone who is stubbornly attached to the way he wants this game to work...rather than someone who listens to the people who actually pay for this game and caters to them.

Disappointing...

Here's my biggest question: Do any of these changes help new users become more interested or add more depth to the game to older users? Or will this just be a lot of changes for the sake of change?

yeah Pep he seemed more open in the first two days of the scouting thread. Now its seems more like THIS IS WHAT GOING TO HAPPEN with maybe some tweaks in beta kinda attitude.
I was excited at first but he said he didn't like pulldowns. I mean really to me that's the best part of recruiting and the only way in the lower Divisions to get good imo. I would say I'm average at best at this game but I vary rarely don't have most of my recruits as pull downs maybe even a drop down. I might end up with a same division guy as my last spot to fill so for him to say pulldowns are out is a very huge disappointment.

No.

As well as making it take longer for them to learn from mistakes and get good.

It does add depth, but how many of those bad changes do we get for the 1 or 2 great idea's presented.

No post-season cash should, in theory, make recruiting even more local than it is now, especially at D2 and D3. Ultimately this would mean Tarv's assumptions are correct in that the team with the most openings is at a nice advantage. Making recruiting even more local than it already is is another reason playing in human-filled conferences is going to be a disadvantage.

Another option would be everyone is going to run zone to take 3-4 walk ons every season ;)

This may very well be the most spot-on remark written so far about this update.

I agree completely. His tone was dictator like, everything seems set for him so there's really no point of us giving him anymore feedback on this. He's obsessed with high level D1 and not giving a damn about anyone else.
