if he does away with postseason cash, he will kill the game and many of the best coaches will leave.
Oops, on another thread i referenced your great Georgia Tech write-up and used it to justify supporting the elimination of postseason cash.

Its funny when i see "no postseason bonus levels the DII and DIII field". It's like seble doesn't that their are SEVERAL users in empty conferences with elite teams. Just an excuse to make himself sound right. Also, not being able to see another teams recruits will make it hard to know when to battle for a recruit. DI postseason cash just should be lowered and thats it, DII and DIII will always be a level playing field.

I like the ideas being thrown out. Specifically, the following:
1. Allowing a school to see the recruits with 50-75 miles of campus. As pointed out, every coach knows their local recruits.
2. I don't mind getting rid of post season cash but I do think Big conference with good prestige should have an advantage like they do in real life. Here is my idea.

The amount of scouting money is based on Conference Prestige and Team Prestige. This would be an example of how it might work.

Conf A   Prestige A,    Conf B Prestige B,
Conf A Prestige A Conf B Prestige C Conf C Prestige F
Team 1A Prestige A ?Team 1B Prestige A ?Team 1C Prestige A?
Team 2A
Prestige C
Team 2B
Prestige C
Team 2C Prestige C
Team 3A Prestige F Team 3B Prestige F Team 3C Prestige F

So now, the money for scouting/would look like this. You would obviously scale down from D1 to D2 to D3.
Conference Prestige                          Team Prestige
A -20,000                                                  A - 20,000
B - 17,500                                                B - 17,500
C - 15,000                                               C - 15,000
D - 12,500                                               D -  12,500
F - 10,000                                                F - 10,000

If I run the formula, I would get the following available funds for the teams above.

Team                       Conference Money     +       Team Prestige Money      =         Available Scouting Money
Team 1A                    20,000   +   20,000   =  $40,000
Team 2A                    20,000   +   15,000  =  $35,000
Team 1B                    15,000  +    20,000   = $35,000
Team 3A                    20,000   +   10,000  =   $30,000
Team 2B                    15,000   +  15,000   =  $30,000
Team 1C                    10,000 +   20,000 =   $30,000
Team 3B                    15,000 +   10,000  = $25,000
Team 2C                   10,000 + 15,000 = $25,000
Team 3C                   10,000 +  10,000  = $20,000

The recruiting money can be the same as proposed since the higher prestige teams in prestige conferences have an advantage with the layout proposed.? This would scale down to D2 and D3 so that the lowest Prestige teams in D1 would be even with the highest Prestige teams in D2.

I like this idea. You get rewarded for being in a good conference, having a good team, or both. But you are never so far out that you can't recruit a player you want in fear of getting smashed.

I thought that you COULD see who was on a kid once recruiting started, just not in the scouting phase.

No.  Seble made it seem like you could only see which schools are interested in a kid if you've scouted that particular kid.  If you didn't scout the kid during the scouting phase then I don't think you'll ever get information on the kid, including which schools are pursuing him.

The way I interpreted Seble's dev chat was if a school is pursuing five kids, say kids A, B, C, D, and E, and I scouted A, B, and C, then I'll know that school is pursuing A, B, and C but will be completely blind about D and E.

This will make things much tougher because you don't have 2 key pieces of information.  You won't ever be certain how many recruits a school is pursuing and you won't know how many battles they're in.  Feels like we're going from auction style recruiting to a blind auction.

In real life, there are several websites that can tell you what recruits schools are going after. I think it would be patently unrealistic to have a system where coaches are completely blind to the recruits and schools' targets without paying for something.

think eliminating postseason Cash altogether is dumb

there is a difference b/w strengths of conferences in real life, why not in this game? There is a money cap in college athletics.

although some schools, like Kentucky, have a higher salary cap

Then you are more optimistic than I, tarv. ;)  What I've read so far in the developer chat and forum threads doesn't suggest he is willing to listen really.  He especially is not acknowledging that he lacks full understanding and he really isn't soliciting much advice...from what I've seen.  On a few things maybe (i.e. recruiting timeline), but most things...no...unfortunately.
maybe I am unrealistically optimistic. Maybe it's because I don't play GD and wasn't here last time an HD update screwed things up. but it seems like seble is genuinely looking for feedback, it's just that most of the feedback regarding postseason cash has been put in the form of an argument that he feels he can answer. I think there is a missing supporting premise (that power conferences are actively disincentivized without postseason cash) that makes it all make sense. Maybe he's ignoring that, but personally I just haven't seen it that prominent in the complaints, and I honestly think it is the key to the complaints
I've seen myself, you, brianxavier, the0nlyis, kevodaphenom, cbg, and probably a few others I'm missing argue that very point.  The problem is seble has quickly dismissed that argument (as we saw in the developer chat) or ignored it (as we have seen in the forum threads).
I've seen people allude to the point, but I haven't really seen it hammered too much. The question I saw answered in the devchat was why people would join full conferences without postseason cash. That assumes but doesn't state the premise he's missing.

You know what's funny? Even if we keep postseason cash, its effect is going to be drastically changed anyways, because the money all goes to scouting now and not to recruiting. I actually think that could drastically reduce the issues with postseason cash without touching the amount.

we have a lot of info now, there are a lot of supporters and detractors. there was one poll, but it was a little strange, with 3 answers that leave it somewhat unclear who supports and who is against. also, we've learned a TON about seble's intentions over teh last week. now that he says he mostly has enough to go on, and has reduced his presence on the forums, we have to assume we have a good idea where he's headed. time for another poll - 3 questions - very simple. have at it:

yes and in real life theres 20 scholorships offers for the top players here there is 1 maybe 2 every 10 good recruits. so how do you project we can mimic real life to get 20 schools so much negativity but no real solutions.
