HD World Population Numbers... Topic

I'm curious to see the world population numbers in HD. I did some forum searches, but could only find a thread that went to season 52 (in Crum). There was another thread that helpful bar graphs, but showed the entire HD population across all worlds combined (from a year ago).

I'm in 2 worlds, and their populations are:

CRUM: (signup day for Season 78)
Div-1 has 116 humans.
Div-2 has 77 humans.
Div-3 has 74 humans.
Note though that Crum is currently open today for new signups, so these numbers will hopefully improve.

NAISMITH: (in Season 83)
Div-1 has 127 humans.
Div-2 has 120 humans.
Div-3 has 123 humans.

If I did this correctly below should link to gillispie's world pop data thread from July ...  I ave also added a couple of updates from some of the other worlds I've run data on.  Just as a point of fact, all of the worlds referenced below, and both worlds mentioned in npb's post are currently at their lowest total user population levels ever.

  Wooden Rupp Smith
D1 128 128 133
D2 121 101 92
D3 89 80 78
  338 309 303

npb, if you are interested, here is what would be really useful in looking at population data... to try to aggregate the numbers in a meaningful way. one coach tried, you mentioned the graphed thread, but it just crammed together by season number - where knight season 1 is like 6 years apart from wooden season 1 in reality. so, the results weren't meaningful.

1/day and 2/day worlds have set lengths, occasionally there have been delays but i'd ignore those, basically you have to line up the seasons in each world based on when they really happened (with the current season listed for each world being the same, and working backwards). then you could put together a graph, plot each season, and draw on it to show when the worlds opened (which will surely skew things a bit), and when major updates went out. would be a great visual representation and something nobody has ever done.

Season 107 (2 a day)
Tark DI  148 humans 46% of schools
Tark DII  115 humans 42%
Tark DIII   75 humans 20%

Season 87 (2 a day)
Phelan DI  137 humans 42%
Phelan DII   95 humans 34%
Phelan DIII  92 humans 24%

Very unpopular idea, I know, and with a few bumps to smooth out, but don't these numbers just scream contraction of a few worlds to anyone with (A) a bit of common sense, and (B) an even semi-competitive nature?

thanks for the reminder...

I consider myself to have at least a bit of common sense and to be competitive - but I like things the way they are.

I don't want to see a consolidation for two main reasons, with the questions I post being the emphasis behind the reasons:

1. Which worlds are closed? Who decides? What about the resumes people built up in those worlds? The teams they've loved to coach, etc?

2. With worlds jammed full of human coaches, how does this impact recruiting? Scheduling? What's wrong with having some SimAI games on the schedule?

Personally, I don't want to see a full world or anything close unless there are a LOT more recruits overall  at each level and a LOT more who have better potential - or else every recruit will be a battle.

The problem with appeals to "common sense" is that what makes sense at first blush might be the fastest way to convince fox to put this puppy down.  The exact opposite is what needs to happen.  Has there been anything for anyone to get excited about??  How about starting the chase to high D1 over again?  Think that might draw some folks in?

The cosmetic "mobile-friendly" update and a few tweaks need to be released and PRONTO!  Announce a new world to start with the start of the college basketball season and make sure the mobile update is released beforehand.  If that draws no interest, then there's an issue.  It'd be nice to hold off until after this big update is ready.  Fine, but the drop dead deadline for a new world is March 1st, 2016.

I've said my theory many times.  No one should expect world population numbers to fail to decline to be in line with bonus expectations.  I know that no one likes to have an "all the children are above average" mentality in sports, but most of the folks that don't earn bonus cash on a reasonably regular basis are going to leave.   Simple.

I agree they should start a new world.  That is the most fun I have had in HD, racing toward the top D1 jobs.

I know people will complain that there are too many half filled worlds, but that is not going to improve whether you start a new world or not.  Nobody wants to start in those worlds when the best school you can hope to reach is a mid-major where you are lucky to get into the NT, let alone win a game there.   All the existing worlds are Zombies that probably have about as good of population statistics as they will ever have.
