Okay, why cant I ever win a close game? Topic

I cant believe I am doing this as I always try to figure things out on my own, but Im asking for help. In both of my worlds (UMBC and Millersville) I seem to suck in the second half, and can never find a way to win a game at the end (save for a few times here or there).

My UMBC team is very young, so I guess I can chalk it up to that but out of three games played so far 2 of them have gone to OT and one down to a last second shot.

My Millserville team needs work, and Im working on it...but they suck down the stretch also even on years when I had a good team.

Am I playing the wrong gameplan? Wrong depth chart? Wrong settings in crunch time?

What gives because its very frustrating. I stopped playing awhile ago and recently started back up but am already thinking that may have been a mistake.

I only looked at Millersville...are you in the process of switching detenses?

yes, was man 2 man but I like the zone defenses.....guess that is playing a part?

Yeah I believe so, your overall defensive IQ is fairly low. You could also give Newman more distro, he has good speed and ball handling and decent FT shooting. Alot of end game situations are luck, I've bad season where my team always seems to squeak by witht the win and other times where it goes against me.

From what I see your Millersville team needs better athleticism, speed, and defense.

Thanks for the feedback kev. I am starting Thibault over Newman mainly just to give him some extra growth (I think more playing time does this?) as I figured this would be a down season anyway.

I am working on the ATH, speed and defense. I finally saw that thread on successful D2 teams so this past recruiting period was the first one after reading that (Thibault was a drop down) so hopefully I will get those up with the following recruiting classes.

Thanks again, guess I just need more patience with the team as they grow...

Im resurrecting this, my UMBC sucks in the second half of EVERY game. I had a 33-24 lead on Virginia...all is well, and then BAM only score 19 in the second half. The game before against Liberty I go into half with a lead and then BAM, suck in the second half.

Im at my wits end, what am I doing wrong????

Check your stamina vs your game pace?

Game pace is slowdown...so hopefully stamina isnt an issue...
