But do we know what goes into them? Does it take into account potential? Does it take into account WE and wether he will improve to his maximum potential? Does it take into account wether it's a fit for your team? What if a guy is a great player for a triangle and zone set but gets recruited to a fast break and press team when he has like 50 stamina and he's red potential, he will not succeed there but he might be ranked highly.
No, we don't know exactly what goes into the ratings.

Just like we don't know the exact method used do determine if a rebound happens or if a guy shoots a 3 point shoot or a 2 point shot or when the center's defensive stats are used to block a shot by the point guard.

But all those things happen too.

But I have seen teams with in my opinion at least (which may not mean much) bad recruiting classes get ranked highly so I'm just curious why you think they are accurate

i think he is saying they are accurate to the formula given, not that the formula used to rank them is actually any good.

I am saying that it is a Calculation being made. And the Calculation must have some basis. WIS has said specifically that potential is not factored in. Which would make the ranking inaccurate in my mind.

But even with that, there must be some reason that certain players are ranked the way they are.

It is a common note that is often said about recruiting rankings that they don't factor in potential. As someone who was here before potential, I can tell you that what those people never include is that the rankings were just as bad and irrelevant before potential was ever introduced to the game. They might have actually gotten a bit more accurate in the potential era believe it or not, but still worth ignoring. In my opinion, all they do is lead new players astray that don't realize why their teams are so bad if they are doing well in the recruiting rankings.

I know they are based on calculations because it's a software and that's what they use for everything. They are inaccurate and therefore should not be payed attention too besides checking to see if the computer ranked you high so you can feel good or be ****** off.
