So I have a freshman 2 guard who is at +2 he takes 8-12 shots a game with sometimes one and rarely 2 of those shots being from in 2pt range. Would increasing the frequency even do anything?

are you wanting him to take less 3's? or more?

If he's at +2, he's going to take most of his shots from 3 point range. If you want him to take more 2 point shots, lower him to +1 or even 0.

At plus 2 he pretty much only takes 3s I'm wondering what the difference if any if he's at plus 3 or 4

The 3 Pt frequency only ranges between -2 to +2.  You can't have him take a higher percentage of 3 point shots than he does now.

What end result are you looking to achieve? What do you want to happen exactly?

All he takes is 3s but I though t his frequency good go up more I wanted to know what change that would bring around when he already only shoots 3s...idk why I thought it went higher

One thing to remember is that a setting of 0 is not the same for all players.

If someone has 0 PE and 90 LP .. with a setting of 0, the vast majority of his shots will be 2 point shots.  If he has 100 PE and 0 LP, a setting at a setting of 0 he will take many more 3 point shots.

A setting of 0 means, shoot 3 point shots based on your ability (ie, how well you shot 3's compared to how well you shoot 2's).

If you want to shoot more 3's than normal, that is +1 .. less 3's than normal is -1 .

If you want to shoot a 3 whenever possible, +2 ... if you want to never shoot 3's, -2.

Never shoot does not count half court shots at the end of a game, etc.
