Why are you using the phrase "Current proposal"? If WIS has invested that much development time in it, it's going to happen.

To keep an open mind on this, one ENORMOUS benefit would be to limit the number of screens that have to be view to click through to take and interpret the results of recruiting actions. Taken just as an improvement on that and the UI, this will be great!

Do I think it is an enormous end-around the current issues with the game that could have been otherwise handled directly and without risk of screwing up the best part of the game? Yup, but it's certainly possible that this can be pulled off.

I want to select "looks okay," "could be bad or good," and "jobs are more important to fix."

I think the recruiting system looks allright. It will fix some D1 issues, but not all. It will get rid of one of the aspect of the game I like, pulling down players. But we can't have everything.

My biggest concern is the worlds shut down now. It could kill the game.

I was entirely against the updates when I read them over months ago. Now, I couldn't tell you if it is due to the months to digest the idea or the developers chat, but I'm actually kinda excited to check them out in testing. Of course, the game will be different and that scares coaches (myself included, as I don't want to fail at my D1 school I worked to get to due to the game changing around me), but that isn't really a bad thing.

On that note. I popped in my copy of NCAA Football '14 the other day on Xbox 360. The recruiting in those games is so far ahead of HD. The recruiting has been so generic for so long. I understand the differences between that game and HD, but it just became apparent to me that there is so much potential in a game like this. From recruiting now, to coach firings + game simulations later, I feel like this game can just be so much better as a product if we all give the new game a chance.

Agreed on both parts. To me really the biggest takeaway is that we're getting developer time to make changes. Everyone can argue about which changes, but at least there's some progress.

I compare it to all the other sports sims I've played too. All have plusses and minuses, and I suppose we used to how things work here, but there's absolutely things that can change to make it "better".

I think the in season recruiting is going to help retain coaches.

I've gotten a bunch of friends to play this game and a few have decided to quite after a couple seasons. Their reason was that while recruiting was fun, the season was boring. So if you're new and not really into the game planning, strategizing elements of the game yet, it can be very boring. I think this would keep people engaged.

Sorry I meant it to be the current version of the proposal since some things have changed from the last time and some things seem to be still in the works, I didn't mean it in the "i hope this will change" as I know it is going to happen

the fact that unless you know what to look for in a team to take over you spend your first few months doing nothing since it's a 4ish season process to get good if you recruit solidly right away might also be a big issue.
