Is that guy a defensive stopper Topic

Now that I lost, almost beat Syracuse, I am wondering, cause that guy had crazy success in man to man. Is he a defensive stopper? He handled 900 + scorers day in and day out during the season and the tournament.

Why would you put defense on your main scorer? I have defense in all my positions except for shooting gaurd which is my main scorer. Doesn't make sense really... Yes he is a defensive stoper because defense is his higher rating. You're defensive stoper needs to be your c atleast with alot of shot blocking and defense.

What? Defense is good at every position, it's not smart to purposely keep defense low at SG just because you want him to be your main scorer. I can't decide if you're a bad troll or actually just really naive

he's not trolling, he is new and a bit out there in general (no offense coach ward, i don't mean that in a bad way at all - im just saying that you express things in your own way), so that's the issue. he has only played d3 and has no idea what d1 is like. the point hes trying to make is that it doesn't make sense to focus on defense on your main scorer, which is valid, but it comes across strangely. i think he also is taking zorzii's original question a bit differently than intended.

coach ward, zorzii is just asking if, relative to high d1 ratings, coaches would consider a guy with those ratings, to be a strong defensive player. i think you are reading "defensive stopper" and thinking about something else. zorzii is not asking if this guy can anchor the paint for the whole team or anything - hes merely asking if having the lower ath/spd rating is an issue or if that 100 def is enough to make his guy a great defender.

to answer that question... he is a GREAT defender for your team, for a C prestige clemson squad. for high level BCS play, hes still a fairly strong defender. a 90/90/90 guy would be slightly better (very slightly), and that is a high quality defender for any team, pretty much. so, i think your guy is kind of on the border, of being a great defender, from a high d1 standpoint.

" i think you are reading "defensive stopper" and thinking about something else" In real life of basketball I am more of a nba prep coach.. Here comes this is not real life and this is a simulator comments.. But the thing is we still have positions and ratings per positions which goes into equations to get the best shot the best defense so positions do matter... I was thinking of doing all small fowards or all gaurds for my next generation of students here at Chowan. Which is out of my criteria in expertise in basketball knowledge..

he truly took care of great scorers by himself. I almost knocked off the #1 seed and lost by 2 missing the last shot. I am thinking i would have lost in the first round of the nt without him. Is 100 a special stat? He completly shut down his man every game.

Against Syracuse, it's possible the coach of that team purposely limited the number of touches with his SG for that reason alone and focused on attacking other, not as strong, defenders. The Arizona SG wasn't that great. Your first round game, the person he was guarding went 5-9 from the field, so not sure he was that much of a factor there.

There have been times where I've thought that 100 could have an distinct advantage compared to someone with a 99 rating. More of a difference than 99 to 98.

He was at the SF both games before I played him at the SG to shut down Syracuse scorer. The SF were the scorers of Baylor but especially Arizona. I think Arizona SF went 1 for 13. 100 could I have a distinct advantage. That's how I saw it. Maybe you were right about that.

Dude, all of your contradictions in your posts about your life story is mind numbing. In one you said you were 20, in another you said like "back when I was in College" did you go at like 14, in another you said you were a youtuber, now your a NBA prep coach (what even is that?), this is confusing.

Just saw in another post that he is moving in May because his Dad just accepted a new job, so we can assume that if he is still living with his Dad then he is a child under 18, yet another contradiction.
