that is my Prairie View team in Smith world. i've been steadily improving my team, and believe we should be even better next season. I want to join a Big 6 conference. currently at a C+ prestige, and not qualified for any Big 6 jobs this offseason. what will it take for me to get up to a B-, and will that most likely get me a C or C+ Big 6 job? Do I need to make the NT next season and win a game? there are a couple of other human coaches in my conference...so if i lose in the CT and only get into the PIT next season but win a couple of games might i improve to B-? i appreciate the input!

you will need 2 NT bids in a row, with 25+ wins and top 50 rpi. your w-l record is holding you back from B- prestige.

so i should schedule lighter? i like to schedule several decent-good non-conference teams to boost my SOS, because my conference has 9 sims in it...but you're saying i should basically schedule only games i most likely will win?

My Holy Cross team in Crum improved from a D- in Season 75 to a B- after Season 81.
And I think you're on a similar course as mine.

I made 2 NT's and then 1 PIT, and similar W-L records to yours.

I don't think I had any Big 6 offers last year. Every non Big Six with C prestige or worse was available (Marquette, St Joe's, Gonzaga til it was taken).
Good luck!

I think you're scheduling great. It looks like you're finding Sims that will have a bunch of seniors, which i think is the right idea... Yale unfortunately for you ended up pretty weak in the end.

I like to schedule at least 1 excellent Big Six school, and the 1 or 2 beatable Big Sixes. I think stealing a win in one of those 2-3 games goes a long way.
I think a 7-3 in non conference is good.

Actually, i should schedule more road games, but then i think I'm afraid i might lose a couple and screw things completely up. My RPI is 36, but my Projection Report placement is currently only 56. I think in Div-1 i need a 45 or better to get an NT at-large. I think other teams near me in the Proj Report scheduled more road games.

scheduling you have 2 options really:

1. Mainly sims look for teams that will have heavy senior or junior classes, with the rising senior classes you have to make sure that they don't have a full human schedule as they wil rack up the losses which hurts you. You want every team to hit 18+ wins if not 20+

2. non major schools with comparable talent, ideally you don't schedule anyone you don;t feel the favorite over. these are non major schools in weak conferences that will hit 22+ wins.

DO NOT schedule Big 6 schools you'll lose to the good ones, and the bad ones will hurt your RPI/SOS.

10-0 W-L is always the goal below 8-2 is disappointing.

If you are rebuilding just schedule teams that will have large freshmen classes and will suck, your going to be bad anyways might as well make sure you pick up wins, doesn't matter if you are rebuilding and have the #10 sos you won 2 games, where winning 8-10 games with a 200+ sos is much better.

If you play it right you can end non conf with a top 20 rpi, I've hit a high of #3 rpi from my Yale team after 8? games and finished non conf ~13th? after having one game not fill I believe. As well as #11 with my Chicago State team which I played 1 hman team that waws all sim recruits all season until the post season and ended 18th.

Personally I think wins are very important at D1 for prestige purposes, I think it really makes a difference if you can hit 26+ wins for the season compared to getting 7+ losses.
