Pull down question Topic

My friend is in his first season and is trying to execute a pulldown. He sent the coach call to the recruit in one of the early cycles and got the back up message. He then followed that up with 10 scouting trips and a scholarship. He received the following scholarship message:

"I feel like I need to give each program my full attention before I make my decision. I don't feel like I know enough about your program to say yes or no yet. Sorry."

He has then followed that up with 15 more scouting trips (in increments of 5) and hasn't received another scholarship message from the recruit. The recruit is considering a D2 sim and the WOTS says that the recruit is tight with the SIM.

My question is, will the recruit eventually come around if he keeps sending ST's or are there some recruits that give the back up message that still can't be pulled down?

One other question, if a pulldown prospect gives you a negative message with the initial coaches call but goes on to not be recruited by anyone will they drop down or eventually become recruitable to a lower level program?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

What level? DIII? I'd give up if the SIM is tight. How much money?

Yes, D3. He has spent $4100 and has 8k left.

Edit: I logged into his account to get the numbers. Lol.

With each batch of STs I'd send 1 HV. If the HV gets rejected then you need more STs to pull down. If the HV is accepted then the kid has been pulled down and you can recruit the kid with just HVs. Unfortunately it's going to be VERY costly if the kid is *tight* with simmy and the $8K he has left may not be enough, especially if the recruit is more than 200 miles away.

note to new d3 coaches. Do not try to pull down D2 recruits considering simai already...

The recruit is close. Under 100 miles. I will let him know his options so he can make a decision on how to proceed. Thanks for the advice.

Anyone know about my 2nd question? If you don't get the back up message from a guy but he never starts considering anyone can you try him again or is it a lost cause?

I pulled down a power foward who was considering John Jay in allen world 6. Better resume in a full conference and has won consecuctive championships as I recall.

Never try to pull down a DII player considering a sim if the recruit is tight with sim. It's foolish. If sim has a low level message it's very easy, but if he's tight stay away. Newbie mistake.

For your 2nd question: 99.9% of the time the answer is no.

"I feel like I need to give each program my full attention before I make my decision. I don't feel like I know enough about your program to say yes or no yet. Sorry."

Doesn't this indicate that the player is now open to HVs and CVs?
