Well, the Crum season just ended and my Freedom conference, which has finished with the best RPI in about 25 of the last 26 seasons (Midwest clipped us for the only blip maybe 7 seasons ago) has emptied out. Just dropped from 9 coaches to 3. And I don't blame them because I see no scenario where D3 is fun in the new system. Maybe D1 improves, but D3 looks shot. Is the exodus, or simply people dropping a few teams, already starting?

I am going to drop 3 or 4 teams but it has nothing to do with the new update. It has to do with time.

I've moved almost totally to D1, but have dropped several teams and worlds before the changes even came up. The changes aside, I won't be keeping as many teams/worlds moving forward

sorry to leave you all alone :( would've been fun competing

The update, for me, has killed D3. I'm in beta and it's tough recruiting at that level. I've always considered myself a pretty good recruiter at that level, but in beta I'm finding it very difficult to find serviceable players. Granted its the first recruiting session and the process will become easier, but staying at D3 in any world won't be a priority for me. If I leave it will be due to time constraints.

I actually don't mind the new process. With some tweaks it could be a positive move. It's not my favorite, but it's not all bad.

Remember that many, many good DII and even DI players will fall through the cracks and be recrutiable...

which is totally realistic.....

honestly with how many coaches leaving the few good coaches I think are about to set some unbreakable records if they truly can get these high D1 players that people miss out on. Look at Thiel in the beta world, if you can consistently bring in not even top 100 guys but just D1 talent alone to D3 we are going to start seeing some major multiyear dynasties emerge especially with all the coaches leaving.

Yeah, I've seen a few, but getting them interested is another story. In the beta I've found the entire recruiting/scouting process during the season way too long. Especially scouting. Again, it's not bad, but I probably wont pay to play once it rolls out :(

you forgot we're catering to the ****** coaches that get bored during the season by giving them something to do
6/7/2016 2:59 PM
but on a serious note, I'm fine with in season scouting I think thats a good idea. However it was overcorrected to where you can currently be done scouting in pretty much 10-20 minutes depending on how much you FSS and then if you do spreadsheets or something like me.

Now scouting is a very time heavy process that you can't just bang out pretty quickly or else be at a major disadvantage.

Should've found a middle ground for scouting where you could spend the entire season scouting but also get it done relatively quickly in 1-2 30 minute periods and be pretty close to the same level. Again giving big advantage to those with a lot more time on their hands.

We're catering to the coaches who have jobs and wives and kids and don't always have the time to do all of their scouting in the 40 hour window between when the new world rolls over and when recruiting starts.

***** about the execution all you want, but don't act like that goal doesn't make sense

The Tark USA South isn't full this season for the first time in almost a year. 4 spots opened up, and only 1 got filled.

This update is not doing that at all, you still have to be on your computer to put in attention points in the first cycle or you fall behind. This does nothing to increase recruiting flexibility. It increases scouting flexibility but at the expense of increased amounts of time to get it done.

then they would've made it so that you dont have to be present for the first cycle I still can't believe they didn't add pre-loading options from when the world rolls over.

Maybe if they had done that I'd believe you, but the fact they didn't change that yet is worse for those coaches than the scouting issue.

Again they should've not radically changed from a quick 20 minute effort to something that looks like it takes an extremely long time no matter how many days you spread it out.

If they wanted to do it right they should've made it where coaches can take a long time to scout like it is now, but not make it so labor intensive so that you can finish scouting in a short amount of time and not be penalized.

And really? if you literally can't find 20 minutes to FSS then you must be way to busy to bother playing Hoops Dynasty give me a break that has to be one of the worst excuses I've seen from anyone here, I expected something like that from shoe or cubcub not you tarv

If you wouldn't have gotten yourself kicked out of Beta you would've seen that Seble mentioned he is looking into a way to add pre-loading options or extend the time of the first recruiting cycle.
