you forgot we're catering to the ****** coaches that get bored during the season by giving them something to do
We're catering to the coaches who have jobs and wives and kids and don't always have the time to do all of their scouting in the 40 hour window between when the new world rolls over and when recruiting starts.

***** about the execution all you want, but don't act like that goal doesn't make sense
This update is not doing that at all, you still have to be on your computer to put in attention points in the first cycle or you fall behind. This does nothing to increase recruiting flexibility. It increases scouting flexibility but at the expense of increased amounts of time to get it done.
If seble allows preloading of the first cycle (which he said he is looking into), then I think it does make serious strides.

That said, I was referring to the goal, not necessarily the execution. The execution is an entirely different debate (which is kinda the point of the beta)

then they would've made it so that you dont have to be present for the first cycle I still can't believe they didn't add pre-loading options from when the world rolls over.

Maybe if they had done that I'd believe you, but the fact they didn't change that yet is worse for those coaches than the scouting issue.

Again they should've not radically changed from a quick 20 minute effort to something that looks like it takes an extremely long time no matter how many days you spread it out.

If they wanted to do it right they should've made it where coaches can take a long time to scout like it is now, but not make it so labor intensive so that you can finish scouting in a short amount of time and not be penalized.

And really? if you literally can't find 20 minutes to FSS then you must be way to busy to bother playing Hoops Dynasty give me a break that has to be one of the worst excuses I've seen from anyone here, I expected something like that from shoe or cubcub not you tarv
If you wouldn't have gotten yourself kicked out of Beta you would've seen that Seble mentioned he is looking into a way to add pre-loading options or extend the time of the first recruiting cycle.
I can still read the beta forums.....

looking into it and doing it are two different things

I completely disagree. I also have a family, and I enjoyed the small window, because after the first 2 cycles, I might spend 5-10 minutes every cycle until I've got my recruiting situation down and then 5 minutes every other cycle until signing just checking on the 1 or 2 new responses I get from that cycle. Now instead it's spread over a period where I have to keep checking attention points until I can finally start sending visits or now adjusting attention points, because I'm too far out of the race. I'm going to spend more time in the new system than I ever did in the old system. Especially with scouting and trying to pick out my target list between the 3 divisions.

In all seriousness, the only time my time was really absorbed was scouting players (maybe 20-30 minutes per team), before recruiting started and the opening round (20 minutes per team in the first round, 10 -15 per team in the 2nd round, 5-10 for any period after).

The Tark USA South isn't full this season for the first time in almost a year. 4 spots opened up, and only 1 got filled.
I think you can expect to see a WHOLE LOT more of that in the upcoming months.

I'm not saying this recruit people... but how both FDUM and King's are still open is disheartening. Two A+ prestige programs with talent, run by excellent coaches for many seasons... even just a couple months ago it was unthinkable that at least one of them wouldn't be taken all through the jobs process or within the first couple hours of rollover.

But Seble is trying to discourage playing in a conference with actual human beings at D3 now so...

I hope he backs off on this and give some incentives to conference for being competitive. I am presently in two great division in DII, one in IBA, one in SMITH, and it's fun because we are filled. I also really NCAC in Naismith D3 and the fact that University si so dominant. It needs to remain the same. I mean, that is the reason I am actually playing in these conférences. If it was not for the guys in there, I would have quit already. I truly enjoy the game a lot more when I am competing in a tough conference. I don't mind losing... I think it's challenging. Getting a CT means something when you play in a filled conference.

Exactly. I would include those whose Internet connections may be compromised from time to time for whatever reason. Good moves.

The new scouting and recruiting are going to require a lot more patience than before, a commodity in short supply in a lot of the people around here, and causing a lot of grousing for that reason.

You sound like a tool. And this update is way more time intensive and last time I heard you still needed to be on for that first cycle while "seble" looks into it, again a top 5 complaint we are continously trying to bash into sebles head and he's gonna look into it for us. Just start recruiting the day the world cycles and make it 24 or 36 hours or something and don't ******* extend like seble mentioned because that's anot her terrible implementation.

The update, for me, has killed D3. I'm in beta and it's tough recruiting at that level. I've always considered myself a pretty good recruiter at that level, but in beta I'm finding it very difficult to find serviceable players. Granted its the first recruiting session and the process will become easier, but staying at D3 in any world won't be a priority for me. If I leave it will be due to time constraints.

I actually don't mind the new process. With some tweaks it could be a positive move. It's not my favorite, but it's not all bad.
Remember that many, many good DII and even DI players will fall through the cracks and be recrutiable...
