can a D3 team with A+ prestige pull down Topic

a D2 recruit with scouting trips even if the recruit doesn't return the initial phone call (or says he isn't interested)? or can a pull down only happen if the recruit says you are a backup option?

He has to say that you're a backup option.

thanks, girt. does the number of initial phone calls you make to a D2 recruit have any bearing on the likelihood of him making you a backup?

Nope, you either are or you aren't.

Like ACN said, you'll know after the first phone call whether you have a shot or not. Multiple phone calls don't increase the likelihood that he'll change his mind and suddenly have you as a back-up option.

is it possible for an A+ D3 school pulldown a D1 recruit?

I know people have said "no" in this thread, but CS explicitly refutes that.

Is it theoretically possible for a top D3 team to recruit even the very lowest level D1 player, or is there something built into the code to make it so a D1 guy will never consider a D3 team, regardless of money spent, prestige, or lack of interest from any other team?

Theoretically it is possible but the chances of it happening are extremely slim. DI players tend to have a high opinion of themselves and most would likely no even respond to you. Thanks.

Apologizes for the *very* late bump, but I was going through old threads looking for some info on prestige.

A D3 team can definitely pull down a D1 player, but only if the player is inside 100 miles.  And that does come from experience.

Edit: That doesn't mean that all D1 guys inside 100 are fair game.  I've only done it with an A+ and I'm sure the guy was borderline D2.

Yeah, I've seen an A+ D3 pull down a <70 (or is it 40?) mile D1 recruit. Haven't had any luck with it myself, but I still will send out a few feelers to the lowest D1 recruits each season just to see.

Yes it's possible, signed two D1s in the same season recently.  Both were within 70 miles, which is what I think is the magic number.  My impression is these guys take a little more effort to pull down than the normal D2, but it's a small sample size.
