Thanks Dalter I missed this one.

How does a guy with 94 Ath 92 PE got 0-8 vs a team playing me - ?

The new engine is just way to inconsistent. Don't know which way to coach the teams because I never know who is going to show up the next game he can't miss vs a team with better defense and playing me straight up. Both were SIM coached teams.

Yeah I've never heard of a guy missing a lot of shots in one game before.

I agree with the inconsistency part - it is tough to know how things will work from game to game.

But to address the first part - did you check out the opposing SG in that game? A 99 DE player who was more athletic and WAY faster than your guy. Maybe an 0-fer is a little extreme, but you have to figure that Arkansas' SG is winning that battle.

Here's the home-and-home that just happened with UNC-Miami in Allen, going from a 25-pt win for one team to a 37-pt win for the other. That's right -- a 62-pt swing.Absurd.http://www.whatifsports.com/x.asp?r=343081&u=/hd/GameResults/BoxScore.aspx?gid=5812877http://www.whatifsports.com/x.asp?r=343081&u=/hd/GameResults/BoxScore.aspx?gid=5840604 In that second game you have one team going 2-23 from 3p vs. a fcp and the other going 16-32 from 3p against a +1 m2m. Right now this engine lacks any semblance of consistency, and that is a scary thing.

in the game where UNC wins (which i would expect to be the more abnormal game, in the first half, all 3 of miami florida's starting guards are in foul trouble. 2 have 2 fouls, one has 3. 2 minutes into the second half, one of them picks up #3. 4 minutes later, and the third picks up #3. the only reason foul trouble wasn't worse is because these guys were getting reduced minutes because of their foul trouble.

i wonder how many of the other extreme swings involve serious foul trouble. it is one of the most volatile aspects of the game in general, and maybe it is a little out of proportion in the new engine. these guards are extremely talented - a/a/a- press iqs, avg 89 ath, 97 spd, 92 def.

i see fairly similar issues on my own team, which is easily the fastest d2 team in my world. my 100spd, 80 ath, 42 def, a+ press iq guard seems like he can't stay out of foul trouble against other talented (albeit much slower) teams. the overall foul averages for these players do not seem out of whack, but a couple unlucky fouls in a row and it can totally cripple these teams. maybe an adjustment is needed, which causes a player 1 foul away from fairly serious foul trouble or more to play a little bit worse defense and to reduce the chance of fouling decently, like you might expect from a team playing very tough defense in real life?

the ath and speed of the guards of miami is much better than that of UNC. i would think that would stop serious fouling from the guards, but as with my team in similar situations, i don't see it. even against drastically slower/less athletic teams possibly starting 3 bigs vs starting 3 guards. and its not like it is poor defense ratings in play, or poor iq - these are top notch defensive players across the board.

At this point in time, I am wondering if it isn't a waste of time posting these game results because nothing has seemed to have changed, and I no longer feel that Customer Service understands the issues.

HD announces that they have cut down on 3 pt. shooting. Anyone notice that one? Before this new engine, in over 2 years of playing this game, it was rare that I would ever go to a +2 with the m2m. Now, I am needing to sit out there like I was playing the zone, and this is against good DEF players.

There was one team in Tark that made 720 3 pt. attempts in the season. After the so called change to 3 pt. shooting to a 'few players', that team did not slow down one single bit. There was one other team in conference that made around 600 attempts in a season and that might not seem too high except when you compare this to the % of 3 pt. shots to the total made.

From my perspective, there are about 5 things that are some degree of being out of line with this engine and some of those by a good margin. The engine we were using before was not perfect, but in comparison, this engine makes one wish for the old one back. It is very difficult to see how anyone could think this is right.

I couldn't agree more acn. Most coaches are pretty myopic when they look at things. We focus on one issue or rating or game and don't consider the bigger picture. To old bears issue, it looks like this player has never shot well from beyond the arc. His best season is .379. He is actually shooting better the last several games. An 0 for 8 game against a tough defender would always be possible with this guy.

For what it's worth (not much) I haven't seen a huge change. Granted, I am only 20 games in.

To show I don't only whine about games I lose, this is a result that is pretty wacky, where I beat Kentucky. They should really have crushed me (like I should have won at Alabama the night before).

played expecting to stop the 3-pt shot.  Set up a 3-2 +2 with mostly A IQ players.....opponent ended up shooting 67% on 21 3-pt shots.  If I splayed a 2-3 -2, I could understand.  http://www.whatifsports.com/x.asp?r=462576&u=/hd/GameResults/BoxScore.aspx?gid=5854072

Interesting matchups in that one smack.

You started a PF at the 3 spot and two Cs for a total of 3 true PF/C.  Your opponent was starting a SG at the 3 and a SF at the 4 spot with only one true big man ( a Pf).

Without getting too detailed he had four perimeter players starting to your two if you count a SF as a perimeter player so I'm guessing your opponent had a quickness PE advantage.  No matter, you didn't foul much with your IQs and won a lopsided REB battle for an easy win.

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
Grant, that 70 FTA game had 35-40 FTA on intentional fouls.  Not an engine issue at all.  Coach started intentionally fouling with 6 or 7 minutes left.
