Easy question for vets Topic

I'm back for my first season since season 7 or 8 in one of the worlds and my question is this:

Once a player is 99-rated in a category, do you just need to use 7 minutes on the practice plan to hold it steady like normal?

yes usually unless the WE is like 10 or something.

LP / PER only need 3 to hold the rating, the rest are 7

You can probably get away with 5-6 minutes in my experience. You could potentially lose a point but I generally haven't. I normally go 7 mins... unless I truly need those extra minutes elsewhere (like SH) ;)

generally 0 minutes is needed to maintain a capped category. meaning at least 90% of the time you won't see a decrease, but sometimes you might see a one point decrease on the edge cases (say the guy is at 99.1, he might drop to 98.9 and you would see a 1 point drop. but probably not, it seems less than a .1 drop for most players from what i can tell).

Did that not get changed with the new engine?

Is it 7 to hold a free throw rating also or 12?

i believe its more like 7 if still room for improvement. it used to be more like 10 but i think seble tweaked that, im really not sure though. when capped, 0 is enough for ft.

everything is 7 to hold except for lp and per which is 3.  i believe that can be found in the new info on the new search engine.  there was a developer's chat on it.

this has been stated many times by developers, but if one would simply try 0 minutes on a capped out category or two, it would become abundantly clear 0 minutes was sufficient.

i agree with billy on this, but the exception i've seen frequently is when a guy comes in with low potential in something. for example, if i recruit a PF with BH of 24 and low potential, it seems to very often drop 1-3 points per season with no practice. If, however, he comes in with 24 average potential, then i get the capped out email at 27, he will almost always hold steady there with 0 minutes.

a low potential guy can have as much as 5 points of improvement before the capped email, so that is probably why you see low pot incoming guys dropping points. i generally start low pot freshman at 0 in all non-cores and then if they start dropping, have a decision to make.

sounds about right to me.

I asked WIS Customer Service.

There is no difference between capped and non-capped players.

If you do not put minutes on guys they will have their attributes in those areas drop ... if they don't it is a bug.

Now, one thing to remember is that guys with higher than normal WE will likely stay constant with less minutes than guys with low WE.  For the categories that are 3 minutes to maintain ... some guys might be able to maintain those at 1 or 2 minutes instead of 3.  Those guys would also take much longer to loose points (the guys with high WE that is).

I am not claiming to be an expert ... just passing on my ticket results.
