Anyone play zone..... Topic

And is successful at it? I am gonna run zone with my Fisk team and been looking around at some top teams and all play either M2M or FCP. Is there anyone out there that plays fully zone defense and is a NC competitor?

I think zone is more effective lately as long as you have the IQ. Livingstone is NC contender who runs zone in DII Crum. They are on my schedule so just open up my JC Smith team.

I have been running zone since I started WIS a couple of years ago.  I have been successful with it, but have yet to even get to a final four yet.  Always ran into the "immovable" full court press defense.  Sometimes I would beat a team or two in the NT who ran it, but then the next team would get to me.  It will be interesting to see if I can realize some better success since with my zone teams since the FCP has been toned down somewhat.

I like zone and/or zone press, so there is a reason not to use it.  Dalter will post 3 or 4 pages now detailing how this post is totally screwed.
Sounds like you have a stalker.

Ginobili.. I'm starting year 2 into my zone experiment in D2 Tark  (St. Joseph's - GLV, under my mldynasty account).  I've had some success running the zone and zone combo pre-potential era.  So i wanted to give it another run.  It helps that the GLV is the top D2 conference in Tark and has some powerhouse press teams running around.  If you'd like some info on my plan for the zone, shoot me a sitemail and feel free to browse the team's current condition.

If I can turn this team into a consistent NT threat, I'll have to consider this as one of the better accomplishments that I've had, considering the history of the program and quality of the conference.

i run zone with all 4 of my teams (one team is zone/press combo).  with 2 of the 3 times i've had long term, i have made the NT consistently.  site mail me if you have questions - i think it can be very effective especially in DII and DIII.

I have been runnning a 3-2 (0) zone with my DIII Wooden team, and I've been quite impressed so far, but its still way too early to go crazy. Although my team DEF ratings and IQ's are abysmal, the combination of okay SPD and ATH, a promising offense, good inside rebounding, and a pretty cake schedule (so far) has helped me manage to go 5-1 somehow. Honestly, those results are way better than I expected up to this point.

I am far from a great coach but I am running a zone with my St. Edwards team in Phelan and this season should be pretty good and next year we should be good so I will let you know how that goes

I ran a Zone with my St. Edwards team and made the sweet 16 for the first time in my career with no seniors on my squad... I worked out really well for me but Im hoping to make a deeper run next year and will try to give more info
