Players quitting Topic

I promised a player a starting spot knowing he'd start, but some reason offered him PT as well, which I never remember doing. Anyways, I decided to honor it, but can't. Not by choice, but because he has a Loq IQ, under 10 def rating and trying to press. In the old engine he could average 20 MPG+, but with the knew engine which I signed him before really knowing he can't even play over 15 mpg. I am doing everything I can to live up to the minutes, but it seems there is nothing I can do. I got him at foul trouble only as well as more aggressive. He is averaging 4.4 fouls a game and has fouled out nearly every game before he can get close to his minutes.

I don't think WIS has some built in method to make this guy not transfer. I've done everything I could to make him get his minutes, but I think he will still transfer. Has anyone every had a guy transfer due to not living up to a transfer even though the coach offered him the minutes?

i remember hearing something once that games fouled out don't count against you. so maybe if he fouls out most games and plays 20 minutes in the rest, you will be ok? generally there is a small grace window as well, like on a start, you only need like 19/26 or so.

Well, he isn't fouling out all the time. He has yet to have a game where he has not had at least 4 fouls though, so even then everyone of his games has not came close to his promised average. I figure he will transfer, and if he does CS is getting a ticket about it. I've never seen anything like this before. Under the old engine even with his IQ, low def rating pressing he could still play 25-30 mpg with these settings. Unless some miracle happens I don't see me getting his promise even more then 5 times, but like I said its not by my choice so hopefully if he transfers he could get re-added to my team if I sent them a ticket.

Try setting him on aggresive for foul setting:  In other words, he'll play through the fouls until fouling out.

Sub by target minutes instead of fatigue.

PS: Furry, how do you have a forum rating of "Prospect?"

I think you have more posts than the rest of us combined.

(never mind, clearly the counts got reset with the new forums)

It doesn't help when he fouls out every game regardless of minutes or fatigue. Hes fouled out in 8, 13, 14 and 18 so far. The only games he hasn't fouled out he still didn't get over 20 in some, and his season high is only 24. Each game was with 4 fouls. I'll try by target minutes, but I'm not sure that will change anything seeing as he is constantly fouling. Anyone got the cheat code to make him continue to play until he has 20 fouls?

has he  complained yet? i've never lost a player who wasn't complaining and losing WE.

It isn't far enough into the season. If he complains and WE drop, thats when I'll ticket it and see. I've never had this issue. I've used promises over 200 times, and never had a player who I couldn't live up to a promise. I've had some that I didn't live up to, but that has always been by choice.

Oops. Totally missed that.  Sorry.

Is this under a different ID?  Was just curious to look up the player and its not on your two listed active teams.

6/29/2010 5:22 PM
Yeah, its on a different name. I was unable to move up in wooden on my furry name because the schools I applied to got filled by other coaches. I ran out of apps, but had an old ID that I was able to snag a team with until I can grab them next season. I took over a total rebuild, so I am starting all 5 FR so they are improved as much as possible when I get there. He was one of my best players and should be a guy who ends up with something like 80 ath/90 speed/80+ bh passing and per. His def sucks, but under the old engine he would have been a beast. Even in limited games under the engine a guy like this offensively would be a force so I felt the risk was worth it. I do not recall giving him a promise minute and never battled for him, but it is what it is. I have no problem honoring it and giving him 40 MPG if I had to, but it'd be a tough pill to swallow if I lost him because he couldn't go a full game without fouling out, or ending up only playing like 20 mins with 4 fouls.

So is your complaint that a guy with a 10 def and D level IQ is committing a lot of fouls while pressing?  Shouldn't this be occuring?
6/29/2010 7:51 PM
I have ran press for years RL time and this was never an issue. I was recruiting off that and obviously it changed it up. My idea of the press is this...

Its just a constant run over and force them to pass it and hope its a bad pass. I don't see it needing great defence. Again, watch the video. All you do is run where the ball is and get both your hands up. I don't see why you need to be a ben waller/ron artest in order to send 2 bodies over to 1 guy.
