Although I must say the "You are all a pack of ringleaders, conspiring against me!" bit inclines me, in the absence of any other evidence, towards 'agin'

Can you really have a pack of ringleaders? Wouldn't there be a constant struggle for the alpha ringleader spot, since they're all used to being in charge?

Yeah.  True enough, but then again, does paranoia need to be logical?

Absolutely. Real paranoia is rigorously logical. Even if it doesn't necessarily make a whole lot of sense.
