Responding to a post Topic

Sometimes, when responding, I don't want to quote the entire post, but only a sentence or two.

Before the update, I could quote the author, then delete the sentences I didn't need.  I don't seem to be able to do that anymore.

Am I doing something wrong?

You are not doing anything wrong, al. It can't be done. I even tried to quote the post and then copy, paste and edit it but that doesn't work either.

Agreed, al. Not only is it annoying, but it starts to really clutter up threads.

I sent seble a suggestion when the new forums were first rolled out about that, I encourage you to do the same because it's definitely an easy fix, he just needs to understand that people want it.

You can easily do a reasonable facsimile though.

I sent a sitemail about this.

Here's the answer:

"You can always use the post editor's blockquote button; just copy the part of the quote you want to address and blockquote it. You can do this with or without quoting a post."

I've tried this 2 or 3 different ways but haven't figured out the steps yet
