And to think I was thinking about buying another 5 pack for my teams.  Now I am not so sure that is a wise move.  Multiple HBD teams are looking better and better everyday.
?Multiple HBD teams are looking better and better everyday.

Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing.?

Incidentally, it's starting to look more and more like Colonels was right.  He said he watched Seble destroy the NBA Sim and now we're all getting a first hand look at the slow destruction of HD.  Shame....this used to be a fun game.
lol

It seems like this change was for the better. If you guys noticed last night all the games were simmed before 2:30am while recruit responses came in at 2:31am.

what would be better would be recruit responses which apparently only take one minute to generate being first

Allen: Jobs period ended, season did not roll over, draft did not happen, etc. As much as it pains me to say it, seble is turning into a debacle.
always so negative.

obviously, in a perfect world we would all love the games to be run promptly at a certain time... thus, the complaints when they were late recently.

BUT... i would think that it is MUCH more important that the recruiting replies come out promptly.  with recruiting you often have to make a reaction to the replies you get on each cycle.  maybe you need to dump a bunch more money into a recruit because you see someone else has jumped in.  or you want to see an eval so that you can determine how big of a priority a player is.  and,  at most you have 3 hours to make those decisions if you are to get them in before the next cycle.

now, granted, with 2 a  day worlds,  you may have some changes to do after each game and before the next,  but you do have 12 hours to get that done, as opposed to 3.

to me, it is a no brainer... the recruit replies should come first..

and, kavedude--  if recruit responses came at 2:01... wouldnt all the games still be simmed by 2:31?

i guess the issue must be that sometimes there are issues that cause the engine to stall during recruit replies and if those come first,  it holds up the games as well?  i would htink the same could be true with the engine stalling during game simming and that holding everything up if it came first... right?  but maybe that is less likely  at present?

hmm, i dunno,  i still say recruit replies should come first.

No draft e-mail in Allen or update in the season archive but it looks like prestiges updated as if there was a draft...

oldave brings up a good point.  What happens if something messes up the game schedule?  Then, do we lose that period for recruiting if it takes more than 3 hours?  I dont see why recruit responses can't come first.

I was thinking about jabbing, and then I read this...and I probably still will...tactfully though...trying to bring a new colonels to the party. Scott's biggest problem has always seemed to be that he over-corrects on certain issues and when he goes back to fix them, he doesn't seem to be able to, or even know how. As always, the proof is in the pudding, but I would love to know in general why the game has been on delay ever since the implementation of the new engine, even after it completely supplanted the old engine...and that's basically the million dollar question/concern here.

I think his biggest problem was trying to change everything.

There were things working properly, and now those things aren't working properly.  If things like running the sims on time, running recruiting before the games, halftime adjustments, etc., had never been changed, I think most of us would be more willing to accept the engine flaws.  As it is now, even the most basic things are going wrong, and I have no confidence in seble or the engine.  I'll probably wait it out a couple more seasons for nostalgia's sake, because this is a game I used to really enjoy, but after that, if pretty much everything isn't fixed, I'll for sure drop from three teams to two (and maybe zero, depending on how bad it is).

Why wouldn't they just run the recruit stuff, and then the games?

Because the two-a-day world people have been screaming bloody murder about their early morning game results being late. So, now, games run first.
This seems to imply that recruiting was causing AM games to run up to 4 hours late?
No, it suggests that the squeaky wheels got the grease. Which should not be news to anyone who's been here more than 10 minutes.

TK was the only one who understood how the whole engine worked (and yet he often couldn't explain some questions), and as we are seeing now with seble, it seems that no matter who creates the engine they struggle to fully comprehend and control it. which does beg the question of if the intent of making a new engine is reaching the established goal...

Hey guys, I agree with most of you in that some things have been messing up, and other things haven't been working right, but instead of saying Seble f*cked this up, or Seble this or Seble that, how about rewording the criticism to something like "Hey Seble, that last tweak didn't work because of this" or "Hey Seble, something went wrong over here" and give him an example in a site mail instead of sounding like a spoiled brat on the Forums page. Seble might take it a little better and look into it a little quicker.
