But if it's CS, like the message I got says it was, don't they have anything better to do than monitor the forums.

"Don't they have anything better to do than their jobs?"

Unless I'm interpreting this wrong, are you implying that CS' job is to monitor forums?  Or am I off base and you're in agreement here?  Because monitoring the forums would seem to be low on the list of Customer Service priorities..........

Unless WIS has a secret cabal of forum mods who have never revealed themselves then yes, it's part of the CS job description to monitor the forums. Why would you even think it wasn't?

Ok, if seble isn't doing the banning, who is?  I'm looking at you, hughesjr.
7/8/2010 5:50 PM
Kinda makes you wonder, doesn't it?

I'm actually shocked WIS has mods on the forums. lol

Apparently we have a very different interpretation of what Customer Service's job is.  I would think that answering tickets (without getting canned responses, you know actually LOOKING at and trying to resolve game issues, not the standard "We're looking into it" and never getting a legitimate response back) and making sure the games are running properly would be their top priority, not monitoring forums.  Maybe then users could get tickets and issues resolved in a prompt manner and not have to wait for more than 24-36 hours to get some bogus, "Thanks, we'll check it out" response.  Many times there have been time sensitive issues relating to say, recruiting (I've had several myself), that needed prompt/fast/immediate resolution that fell into the CS abyss without an answer because they were apparently (instead of servicing the customer, hence the name "Customer Service") making sure that none of their comrades were being called out.  Wrong answer.  Customer Service's number one priority is to serve the customer (you know, the ones that pay money to play), not troll the forums to make sure that so-and-so is being questioned about his job.  If monitoring the forums is one of their "high" priorities, why don't we just turn this whole site into a message board so they can have their number one priority be the forum police.

And I'll ask again since no one seems to be willing to reveal their opinion, there has been A LOT worse stuff posted on the message boards in the past that didn't result in users getting banned, so why the change now?  Again, what's different than before?  I don't post much, so a 5 day ban doesn't really bother me that bad, all I really want to know is why the sudden change?  Could it be that what was posted stung a little because it was too close to the truth?

I know you're a very intelligent person Anton, and I respect your opinion, but I've get a little bit of gray matter bouncing around in my skull too.  I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one........

Yeah, I got as far as "making sure the games are running properly" before I realized you were a bit out of your depth on this one.

Real nice attitude, typical Anton arrogance.  Could be that what I wrote makes your little response look a bit weak, huh?  Like I said, I know you're an intelligent person, but the way you look down your nose at everyone, like you're some kind of high and mighty Einstein, gets a bit stale after awhile.  Don't know what it is that makes you think that you're better than everyone else (and news flash, you're not, not by a longshot), but using fancy phrases like "secret cabal of forum mods" is just NOT that impressive.  I would, however, be interested to know how long it took you to find that on the internet.  I'm guessing awhile.  Anyway, sorry to burst your inflated ego (and believe me it's VERY inflated), but you just don't impress me much, "fancy phrases" or not.

Let me ask you something, Oh High and Mighty, if Customer Service's job is not to answer tickets about whether the game is running properly (or direct the ticket to the appropriate site staff), then who are we to send them to?  Would that be the "secret cabal of forum mods"?

i remember emy and colonels posts were very critical and attacking in nature, but what exactly in those posts got them removed and banned? was there foul language or was it simply content? because if it was content, even quite critical of wis, that just comes off as sketchy and big brotherish.

i mean we already have the thumbs up/down mechanism to basically force everyone to not say anything negative about other users for fear of ridiculous forum credibility retribution, now certain ideas or means of expressing ideas are simply off-limits?

No, your response demonstrated how little you understand about the industry. CS is not made up of the folks who "make sure the game runs properly".

I had no idea you were this insecure though. I'll try to not use such big words and flowery phrases in the future, so you don't feel so intimidated. Oh, crap, wait, I just did it again. Sorry.

Can't be sure, but I think everything that got nuked contained actual personal attacks against seble, as opposed to just ******** about the state of the game.

Intimidated, are you serious?  I work in a Federal Prison surrounded by convicted killers and you think that some two bit wannabe genius who uses fancy words is intimidating?  Seriously?  Intimidated by some wannabe hack writer who thinks that using fancy phrases makes him look intelligent?  Really?  Wow, you've got a very interesting outlook on life and what exactly "intimidates" people.  News flash number two, ANYONE can use a dictionary or thesaurus and use the exact same phrases you're using.  Again, not impressed, sorry.  And since you obviously know so much about the industry, why don't you clue us all in?  What EXACTLY is Customer Service's job in the industry?  Please, Einstein, allow us access to that brilliant mind of yours (if only for a second) and clue the rest of us peons in on how the "industry" really works.  I'm begging you....begging I say.  Come down off of Olympus, for just a second, and mingle with us common folk.  PLEASE!!

It's humorous really.  You occasionally pop into the forums, throw out some random, smug comment and sit back, apparently hoping that someone will read what you wrote, sit straight up in his chair in amazement and say, "Man that Anton, he's one smart guy".  Again, not buying it, sorry.  Like I said earlier, everyone has access to the same thesaurus you use.....it's just not that impressive.
