I am pleased with HD and the new engine.  I think it allows us to create a team as we wish.  I like to play Bennett Ball, slow the game down, avoid turnovers, play solid Defense.  I choose who my top scorers should be, I choose who I want to shut down defensively.  The game seems as realistic as it could be......the only thing I can't do is make in game changes, but there is no way around that.  Whatever style you choose to play it should be possible to build what you want.  Anyone else out there Pleased as well?  Lets hear from some of us who are happy with the Product Sabel has put out.

The New HD is not complete yet. Im waiting to see what a world full of the new type of recruits is like. Also im not sure about the new engine... I liked it during the regular season but the NT in D1 knight just seemed strange.

Sometimes I think we are looking too much for Cookie Cutter results.  Strange things happen in sports everyday.  In the "real life" NCAA Tournament Kansas and Villanova could complain that the "real life" engine is flawed..........no way should Northern Iowa beat Kansas and no way should Saint Mary's beat Villanova but it happens. I hav e not played this game as long as many, but I think the Really Good coaches will have success and the really poor coaches will not, your long term record and RPI will show that.  Will good coaches get beat from time to time by the Northern Iowa's?  Yes but it happens in real life also.

UHoh.  YOu used the real life argument.  Now there will be a spate of people claiming that the simulation shouldn't be like real life. . .

ANYWAY...................................people can complain if they want............................I like it to be like real life, I just think we should hear more from the ones that choose my side.  Forums almost always gravitate toward the negative.

Well.  I like it, but I don't have much to compare to.  Not many seasons.

The thing is, there is no "real life engine". God isn't above us computing ratings, etc. and running games played by actual humans. What a lot of you don't seem to understand is that there's nothing more random than human life and that anything happening in any human basketball game is acceptable because there are no boundaries. HD has boundaries...HUGE DIFFERENCE.

prove that life isnt a sim engine.......

Real life has boundaries, you just don't know exactly what they are.   And if a boundary put into a simulation makes it so real life events can't happen, then its a boundary that should not be there

Not going to get in another humongous argument about this because you should know how I feel by now.

If you say that real life justifies EVERYTHING in your sim/game, than you're suggesting that your sim/game can never be wrong, and that's an inherently flawed and ridiculous premise.

You guys way over think this!   Just enjoy the Game!!

I do, there's just a few select people on here who don't understand something called common sense.

Talk about making a false Dilemma.  Obviously doesn't justify 'everything'  it wouldn't justify a 176 - 26 college game, a player not missing a single field goal for a season - there are plenty of things that can't be justified by real life and would be 'wrong'.  Something that has happened happening with extremely more frequency than it really does would not be.  But isolated anecdotes that are weird, if there are matching real games with the exact same weirdness. . . and keeping in mind just how LARGE the sample size of games being played any given day here is . . . every cycle we have MORE THAN(Including the two a day worlds and their overlap) ten seasons worth of games  so you could expect a once in ten years event once every single round of games.

I only have a few seasons under my belt (some pre, some post), so take my opinion for what it's worth.

I slightly prefer the new engine at the moment, and I hope that the remaining glitches can be worked out quickly.  I really hope that we don't lose some of the veteran coaches that strongly dislike the new engine.  The next five, maybe ten (maybe more?) seasons will continue to be bumpy, but I think the end result will be an improvement.

One thing I might be wise not to say, but will: I think some (not most) of the biggest complaints aren't necessarily bugs (although there are a-plenty), but frustration of having to learn the tricks and secrets of the new engine.  If I had put 100 seasons learning every nook and cranny of the old, and suddenly all that accumulated knowledge and strategy was made useless or nearly useless, I'd be pretty ticked too.  This is not to say that the complaints aren't justified, butI really hope that we don't lose many of the veterans, the bugs and bumps settle down soon, and HD grows. I plan on being here a while, at least.

i must not be able to figure out this new engine (felt i was just starting to understand the old).  because i can't comprehend how my team commits more fouls playing slowdown, take away perimeter over another team playing up-tempo, full court press.

every full court press team i play is able to enforce their will.  my PGs have multiple turnovers even though they are usually B+ or better in my offense with passing/ball handling 80+

the only thing i can see is that the opposition has better IQs but not by much.  or at least i don't consider an A drastically better than a B+ or A-
