No, from what I understand it sounds perfectly normal. You filled all 4 of your scholarships and had none left to offer him, so after that he no longer considers you. This isn't an issue with the cycle, its an issue with you having 4 scholarships on all 4 players with only 4 scholarships to give . Always keep your backup with no 'ship offer other wise once all of them get filled everyone  who was still considering you goes undecided. Lesson learned.

furry, I get that - what I am saying is that I was going to cut a player before signings started or take the ship offer off the backup. The only reason I didn't is because I wanted some clarification on this double cycle that occurred right before signings began...it seemed like my opponent had an unfair advantage by getting 2 cycles back to back while I would only have 1 to respond before signings began.

It was updated in the forums by seble. I guess its tough luck, but sometimes it happens. Regardless you should have at least took the scholarship off the back up or shouldn't have even had it on in the first place. Just make sure you keep at least 100 left over to give to him in case the other options fall through.

That's the thing Furry, tough luck or not, it SHOULDN'T happen.  I believe that it's incidents like these (which have been labeled "isolated", even though there seems to be about one a day) which are causing users to become increasingly unhappy with the way this whole release has been handled.  Anyone who has played the game for any amount of time knows that recruiting is the single most important aspect of HD.  When that gets screwed up, it can have devastating consequences for your team for a few seasons.  Should the coach have handled it differently?  Yes, but in all reality, he shouldn't have had to make that "choice" in the first place.

And incidentally, look at the timing of CS' response.  This is what I was arguing with another coach about a couple of days ago.  He gets a response 15 minutes AFTER the "Too late" message.  Maybe, just maybe, if CS had been doing, you know, their jobs responding to time-sensitive tickets like I said they were supposed to, instead of trolling the forums trying to find any little disparaging comments about one of their buddies (like the other coach suggested that they were supposed to be doing), the ticket could have been updated in time to actually do something.  Sure looks like, in this case anyway, that CS is more worried about protecting their buddies reputations by handing out frivolous bans (trust me, it's happened over the last couple of days) than they are SERVICING the customer.  Priorities anyone?  And we wonder why CS tends to get a bad rep.............

maybe part of my confusion is the true impact of the extra cycle. To me, it seems important, because, if I were trailing and had limited budget, I might wait until the 2PM-5PM cycle right before signings start, and then throw a campus visit at the kid, see what happens, and finalize my overall strategy at 5 PM, so that I can be prepared for signings to start at 8 PM. So, let's say in my case that I'm the other coach. I send my CV at 2 and get the response at 2:54 pm that I am in the lead. I then send another CV to lock him up for signing, but lo, at 3:23 PM I get another message, telling me I'm further ahead. So then I get to send another CV in.  Meanwhile, I log on at 2:10 or so, nothing yet, but I expected that because the afternoon games would probably run first. So I come back at 4 PM, and see both messages. I've missed that 'extra cycle' and lost my lead, and gave the other guy a cycle of considering credit. This would be not great, but not overwhelming either. The timing of the event though makes me question if something should be corrected, and I don't want to cut a guy if I've now really lost any chance because of the extra effort advantage I didn't share, so I don't cut the guy. I should have taken off the backup's scholie offer, I didn't think of it, since all along my intention had been to cut a guy I inherited. Ultimately I guess Its my f-up, but it still seems like it sucks that this laissez-faire oh, this happens, tough luck attitude prevails, when it was a glitch that started the whole thing...

The extra cycle did nothing to impact you.  It just meant that his money was put in a little sooner.  The fault in this situation, in my opinion, is your own.  You should have removed the scholarship offer or cut  the guy before signings began.  If the other team had 15k to put into the guy, it doesnt matter if he puts it in the 2pm cycle or the 5pm cycle, its still the same amount of attempt.  The extra cycle has happened before.  It is not really a big deal.  The other team did not get any advantage from it.

The considering credit, especially for one cycle is not going to make any difference in the outcome.  Most likely, it was the amount spent, distance and prestige that hurt you.

I guess its possible i don;t understand extra cycles, but if he was online and watching his teams, I'm not sure how he couldn't have gotten an advantage by sending a CV at 2 PM, again at 4 PM and then again after 5 PM giving him 3 CVs between 2 PM and signings, while I only had the opportunity for the usual 2 CVs since I was not online between 2:30 and 3...

Why could you only send 2 CV?  You can do as many as you want per cycle.

Those "extra" recruiting cycles happen way to often!!! No advance notice or recourse after words. They hurt people in hot recruiting battles and can help people that notice that they happen.
