LBJ will never win an NBA championship Topic

In case you're too busy trying to come up with clever little quips (and really, they're not that good.  In any of the threads in which you post), he was quoted as saying "I don't want to go ring-chasing.  I want to stay with the Cavs and build a champion".  Yeah, how'd that work out?

Yeah, how did that work out? Three seasons of incompetent management, lousy teammates and Mike Brown as coach, and it's no wonder LeBron reconsidered his position.

Cleveland fucked up, period. They don't deserve him.

i don't come up with clever quips, i really just point out every instance you completely make things up to support your complaints.

"(1) He is, without a doubt, the most egotistical person that I have ever seen"

and

"The GOAT simply wouldn't accept riding someone else's coattails to a title.  Lebron made that decision."

these are directly contradictory of eachother. i personally agree with the former, dude has a huuuuge ego, and he's gonna step all over dwades feet....not get carried by him.
Whatever happened to, "there's no 'i' in 'team'?"

The argument that LeBron is a cowardly ***** for wanting to play with quality teammates that management in Cleveland never provided him with, because a real man would want to win a title on his own (you know, the way no other player in NBA history has done), is the biggest steaming pile of internet tough guy bullshit I've seen in years.

indeed, i'm still waiting to hear about the GOAT player that didn't have a hall of fame teammate.

he must be out there somewhere.

Cleveland provided him with all the players that HE asked for.  He wanted 'em, got 'em, and still could win with 'em.  That's common knowledge.  He made bad decisions, and now he's running from them.  He's trying to take the easy way out........period.  Oh, and by the way, there are several writers on ESPN, Yahoo, CNNSI, etc. who are of the same opinion that am I, that is, about building a team and winning where you're at, not ring-chasing, so I guess that's one big pile of bullshit.  In fact, judging from the reactions all over the internet, television, etc., I'd venture to say that that is the prevailing opinion and that yours is in the minority on this one.

Anyway, gotta go watch the Germans try to at least end up in third in this World Cup.  Sucks, for had they beaten Spain, they probably would have won the damn thing.  Hard to admit, but Spain absolutely DOMINATED that semi-final matchup though.  The Spaniards got the win and deservedly so, but that still doesn't make it any easier to take.

yeah, i'm sure lebron handpicked a 39 yr old shaq and a shooting guard thats stickin it to his mom.
7/10/2010 2:37 PM
I love the thought of a powerhouse team, I just wish there wasn't a salary cap so they could have the NBA all-star team.

People who are die hard NBA fans might not like it but there is going to be a lot more people watching and paying attention because of this. Lebron is like Tiger for golf. Only thing I wish is that every nba official would get fired and they would bring up some real officials from the NCAA. One further note is I don't see how with 3 superstars you won't win even if labron doesn't show up in the playoffs really.

If you'd bother to do any kind of research, he DID handpick Shaq.  And Delonte West was already on the team.  How does it go, epic fail?
7/10/2010 3:11 PM
he was happy to have a better center than ben wallace who actually wanted to be in cleveland. if that's your definition of handpick, you can have that.

just cause he had management by the balls doesnt mean he could bring good players to cleveland, of all places.
7/10/2010 3:21 PM
so while we're on the subject, whats your impression of shaq?

the guy must be a total punk, he just hops from kobe's team to wade's to nash's to lebron's

surely not one of the best centers to play in the nba.

Lebron called $haq Diesel on the phone getting him to sign with Cleveland. Delonte West was part of the Seattle deal a few season back before seattle went to okc.

Oh, and by the way, there are several writers on ESPN, Yahoo, CNNSI, etc. who

...wouldn't recognize an original thought if one bit them in the ***. The flock has turned against LeBron for most of the same jealousy-based reasons that lead people to think professional athletes are overpaid, and they aren't about to rock the boat by writing something different.

Here, let's try a little thought experiment. Which of the following would have been written by your ESPN/Yahoo/CNN writers if circumstances were different?

- LeBron is a coward who took the easy way out when he signed with Miami and joined an already talented roster, so he doesn't have to carry the load by himself and can merely ride Dwayne's coat tails
- LeBron is a coward who took the easy way out when he signed with Chicago and joined an already talented roster, so he doesn't have to carry the load himself and can live in MJ's shadow rather than forging his own legacy
- LeBron is a coward who took the easy way out when he re-signed with Cleveland, choosing to stay where he is comfortable and treated like a god regardless of whether he wins or not, rather than go to a team where there will actually be pressure on him to win a title
- LeBron is a coward who took the easy way out when he signed with New York/New Jersey, choosing money and fame/money and palling around with Jay-Z over a team that actually has a chance to dominate and thus puts pressure on him to win a title

The answer, of course, is 'all of the above.' The "LeBron is a coward who took the easy way" storyline was going to get trotted out no matter where he went. And like a brainless sheep, you followed along baaing.

lebron called a lot of people, shaq was who he ended up with.

that's not hand picking, thats settling for one old guy who wants another paycheck.

and obviously delonte west was on the team before he booked mrs. lebron....but after the fact thats a huge con for the staying in cleveland argument.

LeBron is actually kind of like the anti-Tiger.

Tiger wins a record # of titles and is legendarily great under pressure.
LeBron has never won anything and played like a 5th grade girl in the Boston series.

Tiger sticks it to your mom.
One of LeBron's boys sticks it to LeBron's mom.

I understand what you're getting at here, but totally disagree.

First, there was obviously hordes of media coverage and reams and reams of columns written about LeBron's options. I scarcely remember reading one negative thing said about his potential return to Cleveland, or him going to Chicago. Now, maybe some people would've flipped, but almost everyone was already on record with their "take" on the subject. And there were a lot of people who had this take about Miami before. Almost no one was saying anything negative about the other potential landing spots.

And a big part of this is LeBron doing this to himself with that awful, self-aggrandizing ESPN special where the nation watched him publicly cut out the hearts of his hometown state on national television. That's what really turned the tide against LeBron. It was a terrible mistake, he should've never listened to his handlers, who are in way, way over their heads.

The original saying 'there is no i in team' is the soccer mom version.

The real saying - 'there is no I in FU' - the point, win and let people say and think whatever they want (Yankees, Celtics, Bulls, etc) - pretty much what LeBron has set himself up for, he took care of the FU, now all he has to do is win
