Getting Away with Booster Gifts Topic

you definitely can use them to put you over the top in a recruiting battle.  if you're SMART, use them on the RIGHT PLAYERS and the battle is CLOSE enough, booster gifts can help.  that is an accurate statement.

But the question is, how much can you consistently get away with?

How do you determine who will accept and who won't. As everyone can see, my tx tech team is on probabtion when i offered in a close battle. it ended up costing me that ploayer.

If you pay $1,500 for the psych eval, you will get an idea if they will rat you out.

what are the chances of being caught by giving a recruit a throwback jersey? I imagine the consequences are higher for the larger gifts.

Yeah, the penalties can vary from a slap on the wrist to loss of players, loss of scholies, and loss of postseason (including CT) play. Plus your reputation takes a big hit. From what I've read here in the forums and from some of the experimentation done (Outlaw Conference) it seems the odds of someone getting caught are about 95% no matter what is offered.

No offense Weena but saying the odds of getting caught are 95% is just bad information.   Sure, if you give out gifts willy-nilly your odds of getting caught are 95% or truthfully higher but if you do some investigation and target your gifts your odds of getting caught are much, much lower. Additionally, if you learn the boundaries you can be sure to manage the hit you take ... said differently ...  I'm certain that a coach can learn how to get put on probation without being banned from the post season or losing any players.  I have many other thoughts regarding booster gifts but they aren't really suitable for a public forum.
