Who is planning on leaving HD soon? Topic

I am cutting teams. Last nights games sealed it for me, I had two teams lose in the first round of the CT to bad SIM teams that had not business winning. The new engine seems to produce more of those results than before. Maybe I am just a bad coach.

The ineligible thing is maddening because for one, I know I'm not the only one this has happened to and further, the engine should reward coaches who dramatically increase a player's study hall minutes after a 1.9 midterm instead of having that player finish with the exact same GPA a few days later.  An extra seven minutes of practice time at any other attribute would increase a player's rating; why can't it work the same way with study hall?

For what it's worth, I think people just assume they can throw 6 minutes at a freshman and he'll be OK.  In 40+ seasons, I've never had an inel, and I don't plan on it.  Maybe you can get more rating increases, but ineligibility is the risk you take.  At least that's my opinion, but to each his own, I suppose.

On my end, I never give less than 10 minutes study hall to freshmen, especially when I have a team like this year that had eight open schollies and I chose to only fill six.  I bumped the guy up to 17 minutes after he had a 1.9 at midterms.  Never in the six years that I have been playing HD have I had an ineligible.  Hell, the rest of my roster all has GPA's over 3.3, freshmen included.  Bunk.

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
I give myself 3 seasons at U of I when my credits run out - I'm losing interest in HD (just dropped 2 teams) - turns out all I do now is change SH minutes in HD. Its getting stale. I like HBD better and I'm looking forward to an NHL Dynasty at some point.

oldave, you're not leaving so stop talking nonsense. But, in the unlikely event you do then please forward me your remaining credits :)

Then I feel for you, although it wouldn't cause me to want to leave the game any more than some of the other crazy stuff going on.

I might leave, currently I'm bored to tears.

I feel the same way. I've been at HD for long enough. Has nothing to do with the engine.

I'd probably quit sooner but I totally screwed up recruiting at U of I and I can't go out with a dismal 7-20 record after 10 straight NT appearances. Not like that.

It really sucks to see HD greats leave... also its really rude of you guys to not wait until I have St. Joes at the point where I would be able to move up to one of these soon to be empty jobs.

thats the difference between me an moy... i have no problem going out 7-20.  no pride.

My guess is that many of you who are saying "it is just time" probably would not be saying that if the engine was updated to a level that you thought it should have been. I am saying this because I, too, am one of those thinking "it is just time". If changes were made to the level I expected, I probably would not be feeling this way.

I just dropped one of my two teams. I'm going to see how this season goes but I've been struggling with this decision for awhile now and I'm leaning toward getting out. Time, money and changes to the game all factor into it. Is it worth the time and money waiting for WIS to make the game better while being stuck in a program that is not a personal favorite and seemingly limited in its potential? Baseline ratings drive me nuts when I compare my team with others who lose more but remain at the same level as my team. Early entry seems to hit me anytime we have a chance to do something big in the tournament while other teams manage to retain a higer number into their senior seasons. Now the recruits are all over the place and the game results are often hard to explain.
