Who is planning on leaving HD soon? Topic

I peaked at 13 teams spread across 3 ID's.  I'm down to 10 and as soon as Allen and Iba end their seasons, I'll be at 7.  Got a couple of seasons remaining in both Naismith and Crum, but when those run out I won't be renewing.  That'll put me at 5 teams.  Of those 5, 1 is iffy, so that may go also, leaving me with 4.  I'll keep those 4 for awhile, but I don't see myself ever getting anywhere close to double figures again.

Have too many teams going......burnout.

One-two teams? Enjoy playing for a long time.

I have 2 teams and I enjoy them both... I cant even imagine having 10+ thats crazy to me.

Coaches that have 5+/10+ teams are experiencing burnout? I'm shocked!

Agree with the above posters. Try focusing on one or two teams, that way HD doesn't have to be a full time job :  )

My guess is that many of you who are saying "it is just time" probably would not be saying that if the engine was updated to a level that you thought it should have been. I am saying this because I, too, am one of those thinking "it is just time". If changes were made to the level I expected, I probably would not be feeling this way.
Then explain all those other people who said "it is just time" when they left in the past. What was their "real" motive?

I defintely agree with him, anton.

If we had a kick-*** new engine that everyone was fired up about (and/or lots of other bells/whistles that we've been asking for forever), I don't think there's any doubt that would re-energize plenty of people who were starting to feel that things were starting to get stale. I know it would have that effect on me and my friends who play HD. Seems like a pretty obvious cause-effect, really.

I disagree.  Imagine that Daalt.  Games like HBD are far more superior to HD.  They are more intimate (with 32 owners), I can trade amongst owners at any time, minor league management, internationals throughout the season and amateur drafts.  Just more to do than set a 12 man roster 1 time at the beginning of the season and manage SH minutes when guys are to dumb to learn anything. Even with a new engine I still probably wouldn't change my gameplan/depth chart during the season and win just as much as I (well did) do.  WIS is coming out with NHL Dynasty, just like hbd - why would I keep spending time/money on a game that is pretty one dimensional like HD.

I guess its like this - I used to love nintendo techno bowl, mike tyson punchout, etc.... I just tried to play them again recently and I realized they really suck compared to PS3 and xbox 360 games.  the old games were great in the past but now that newer and better games are out there with more depth and detail... the old games suck no matter how nostalgic I get.  I'm not saying that HD sucks - just that I think the newer games are more complex and its time for me to move on.  Its not like I'm still trying to win a NC for the first time anymore.

Getting more and more frustrated with strange game results. Have dropped 3 teams in the past few months, down to two. Hard to remain motivated. Will probably ride out my Knight credits at least.

I just lost to a SIM team with RPI of 382 (out of 384 D3 teams...).  By 21 points.  By far my worst loss out of 40+ seasons.....

HBD has been out for years. If it was a new introduction and everyone was leaving HD to flock to it, then I'd buy into your argument more. (Or heck, even if it was several years old and everyone was saying, "I'm leaving to play HBD instead".

But that's not the case. Honestly, aside from the fact that I agree with it personally, it just seems like common sense. If a product is starting to feel old/stale and they give it a great overhaul that improves everything, a lot of people are going to be happier with it.

Honestly, if that statement isn't true, just about every company in America needs to go back to the drawing board.

You forgot to mention that you had one player take 60 shots.

Dalt I agree with what your saying, but I have to lean towards moy on this argument.

A complete overhaul of the engine was due, yes we all know that, but it just didnt go far enough.

And to me personally they needed to do more with the game itself. Get more involved, get more in-depth, get more detail.

And they just didn't do that, besides all the wackiness that was going on as well, led me to drop my 2 teams, and now I have none.

Just for the simple fact that, ever since I have started playing, there was really no change, and it always felt the same to me.

Just like over the years, Playstation and Xbox have completely overhauled their systems, and companies have brought out better, and better games for it.

Yes the old games were good for the time, and great for playing here and there to have some old time fun. But definately not compared to the games they have available now, as well as the graphics, and in-depth detail that goes into it.

I refer HD to my purchasing of Madden, they haven't done much with the madden franchises in my eyes for the past couple of years, so I stopped buying it and playing it.

Just like HD, I just feel that they haven't done enough to keep the game from getting stale for me, but thats just my opinion.

Just to briefly get back to the ineligible thing - based on the few coaches I've talked to who have had players flunk a semester in the new engine, it almost doesn't matter how many minutes are put into study hall, the player's going to fail anyway.  Why not just tell us that X freshmen are going to fail regardless of the study hall minutes put into the player so coaches don't waste 20 minutes on a freshman when the outcome of that semester's scores was seemingly never in doubt in the first place.  I'm also trying to rack my brain to think of the last major DI player to become ineligible midseason in college basketball.  I can't think of one.

oh and just to reflect back on my ramblings up there.

I just find it funny, that now they have opened up a suggestion forum, asking for suggestions to the game?

And they are asking customers to give suggestions on what they want to see?

After they roll out a completely different engine, don't you think it would have been a good idea, to incorporate some of the ideas that customers have been asking for, for a hell of a long time, into this supposedly new engine, before rolling it out and not after the fact???
