Wait a second...+ defense should help rebounding.. Topic

the engine is still weird for rebounds and assists per game. in iba big east only one guy had 7 boards per game in the whole conference this year.
It's probably not the engine, but rather, how many great rebounders there are. Almost every team has 2-3 90+ rebounders; heck, I even have a freshman with 93 reb in D3. With so many great rebounders in this game, you are bound to see rebound distribution and lower rebounding from the top players than you would see in real life.

My team has always had some dominant rebounders who always perform significantly less well on the boards than I hope, probably because of our zone defense.  I have a sophomore now who by the end of next season should be at 100 reb and mid-to-upper-40s athleticism.  If he doesn't get at least 8  boards/game in D3 his senior season I'm gonna be ******.
dahs, he's 64 sta. So remember, to get eight boards/game, he's gotta be on the court long enough to do that. It's hard to expect real-life type individual stats in points and assists because most guys just don't play enough minutes to rack them up.

Not sure about the rebounders, but assists sure seem to still be off.  Just a couple of days ago, I was killing time and looking at all the leaders in Tark, and there was exactly ONE player in that whole world who was averaging at least 5 assists per game.  He was a D3 player and he was at exactly 5.  Something seems amiss there.......

Just looked, same thing for Allen.  One guy, D3 at exactly 5.0.

And Iba's got two, both D2, both at 5.0.

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/statistics/player/_/stat/assists/year/2010/seasontype/2/group/50

44 DI players averaged over 5 assists/game.

However, these players also averaged in the neighborhood of 34 minutes/game.

In HD, starters are probably playing more like 25-26 mpg (less if they're playing a press). So we're talking about roughly 30% more minutes. Add 30% more assists and it bridges a lot of the gap. Definitely not all of the gap, but a good percentage of it.

Its to serious now a days.  With cornhole stenching up the forums and all the talk of everyone quiting.  But yes it always apears that man produces the best rebounding teams.  As for assists I dont think I have ever had anyone ever on my teams avg more then 4 for a season.

i'm not sure if the 30% extra playing time should mean 30% extra assists, as the players are likely more fatigued for those minutes in real life. then again, so would be the opposition...
