total games coached should determine coach prestige.

I have long thought that there should be a "coach prestige" and that there should be a way to tie it into the school prestige.  Since everyone here is seems to be shooting for realism, this would definitely apply.

And I personally think it would be fair that coaches like OR, Lostmyth, Daalt, Grecian, Gillispie, etc. (and sorry if you didn't get mentioned, nothing personal) should have a higher "prestige" based on their short and long term success.  I suppose someone will say that it's the rich getter richer, but guys like that have earned it and there's no reason that the person who complains can't earn it also.
The other positive here I think would be addressing the problem that once a good coach leaves a non-elite school, the program usual falls into sim ai hell. If school prestige was more tied into coach prestige, when the coach left that program's prestige would drop somewhat, and then there would actually be coaches qualified to take it over.

Winning percentage should be a major factor in the formula, as well as postseason berths

You need to be careful with winning percentage. There are some coaches who routinely have top 10 sos, and others that routinely schedule patsies; some coaches who play in very difficulty conferences, and some who skate by feasting on patsies. I'd much rather see RPI outweigh W-L % ... not that RPI is perfect, but the notion of trying to compare W-L % (especially as a major factor in the formula) is badly flawed.

Agreed.
Definitely agree.  Thought the exact same thing as soon as I read the first two words.

How about we just eliminate prestige and increase the postseason payouts.  Teams and conferences that do well will have a recruiting advantage based on available cash rather than arbitrary conference affiliation or RL school name...and we won't be locked into an eternally BCS-dominated game.

I think prestige is essential to college sports. Under the system you propose it makes it even more necessary to be in a great conference.

Many times before lunch as well. You could grab a bite to eat in the old days and be 375-465 pages behind where you left off.

True fact.

FWIW, DI Allen got pretty decimated by coaches leaving.

(In order of prestige): Southern, Idaho State, Louisville, Washington State, Notre Dame, St. Joe's, High Point, Missouri State, Washington, Fordham, Tennessee, Harvard, Pitt, Providence.

I've been in Allen forever and have not seen an exodus like that.

If I remember, I will check in later this week with a comparison on # of sims two seasons ago vs. now.
