colonels - it is a good system - the reason is to keep people from job hopping and cherry picking teams.  otherwise, a mediocr coach will take over a good team, run it down and then next season move to another.  the loyalty factor is needed
Fair enough....I wasn't looking to be eligible for every D1 job out there, but as far as I'm concerned, given my 2 years of relative success at D1, I deserved the opportunity to move to a different D1 team...whether I renewed or not.  Like I said, in the end it was extenuating circumstances by which I couldn't renew my team...the power was out as Thursday clicked over to Friday.  D- and Ds were really all I was looking for, and quite frankly, I don't think that's much to ask.

If you send CS a note on this, they will likely restore you to your old team.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not going to waste their time.  It looks like my days in Tark are done.

Translation: he didn't want to go back for a third season, he wanted to jump to a different DI team and now he can't.

True...it's more of a misread than anything on my part, thinking that I'd still be eligible for D1 as I mulled over whether I still wanted/want to be in the game or not.  I think it's unfortunate that the process is the way it is, because depending on when I spend/spent my money, delegates what division(s) I can play in...it's not like I missed a season.

I believe that your loyalty rating will continue to improve, even if you are not playing. It sort of sounds dumb, but you might be able to get another DI job after sitting out a couple of seasons. Someone else may have to chime in with better information.

Here's the good news: You wouldn't have qualified for another DI team due to loyalty.

But I would have been eligible for other jobs had I renewed...why does when I purchase my season, matter?
It's called a deadline for a reason.

Lol ... disingenuous as usual. I actually felt bad for a moment because a power outage prevented your from renewing.

Turns out you were never interested in renewing.

Colonels join my d3 conference.  Then I'll get to beat you twice a year.

being "qualified" is not the same as being "eligible"

you would of been "qualified" for DI jobs, BUT you would not of been "eligible" for them because of your loyalty rating.  You would of applied, and on the next cycle got the rejection letter from he AD.

I don't think disingenuous was really the word you wanted to use there.  The fact is, the power being out was one of the reasons that I didn't/couldn't physically renew the team.  After Emery Lyon, my would be starting PG, left, I was never going back to coach SCSU, and that's why I wouldn't have begged CS for the team back, because that wasn't the team that I was going to coach...I'm not going to just get f***ed by the sim and accept it...sometimes you just have to stand on principle.

Like I said, it was a bit of a misread on my part because I expected to at least be eligible for a couple D1 jobs after I let/was forced to let the renewal lapse, and again, unfortunately that wasn't the case, and that's another premise of the game that I don't agree with.  If I end up being eligible for D1 jobs in Tark within the next 5-10 seasons without doing anything in that world, that will undoubtedly show how bad this game and its processes are taking the effing ****...moreover, it's just stupid.  I was hoping I could buy a little more time, the sim said no, thus I'm left to weigh my other options...it doesn't make it any less of a black mark on HD, just saying.

Had I renewed, I would be coaching at a D1 school not named South Carolina State University.

I think what he's saying is there is no way you would have been coaching at another d1 school.  Had you renewed and been the coach at SCSU and applied to other jobs, even if you were "qualified", those schools would have rejected you right away because of your lower than A+ loyalty rating.  Again, there is no way you would have coached at any other d1 school besides SCSU.
