I got him back.

Congrats on getting him back, but it's worth noting that HD is apparently 180 degrees different in this respect than other games on this site, most notably HBD. In HBD, you screw up, you lose out. Like as if colonels was running things. Trust me, you make that sort of mistake there (I have) you learn real quick never to make it again.

Like I said, I don't care about this one particular incident, but I think it sets a bad precedent that you got him back.  Especially bad that you announced it so that everyone else can play the "cornfused did it" card.

I disagree, isack. Yes, we're competing against each other, but it's still a game. If someone makes an honest mistake that's so obvious and can have significant long-term repercussions, I'm glad that it can be fixed for them. People forget to renew all the time and get reinstated to their teams, just another example. Honestly, I think it's a good example of common sense and customer service winning out, and I don't really see a legitimate negative that would arise from it.

seriously, i don't see the big deal. i mean i can understand if cornfused was sending in one of these "sorry i f'ed up plz fix it" tickets on a regular basis, not to help him. or if he was a dick like colonels. but to have it happen once, i mean come on, that really blows for him and its obviously not what he meant to do. if it was you, you would want it fixed. it takes pretty little effort from CS and honestly if i made a game like this i wouldn't even consider refusing a request like that, its totally absurd.

bad precedent for what? There are no negative effects from this.

Wow, colonels, really?
Lol ... your response here made me unblock his post.

What a colossal jackass. (Who can't use "disingenuous" properly.)
That's what you get for teaching him a new word.

Doesn't it pop up and say ARE YOUS SURE? and you have to hit okay again? So, you "miss clicked" twice?
I was trying to take a redshirt off.  So I misclicked on cut instead of unredshirt, then clicked the are you sure without reading closely - if I'd clicked unredshirt correctly, an "are you sure" message would still have come up.
I don't care if you get him back, but there's no reason to think you are entitled to it.

It's not anyone else's fault that you chose not to read the pop up - they put that there specifically so that you can't be hurt by "misclicks."
this.

This is turning out to be really interesting - there are multiple people taking each side on this.  Huh.

If it was me, I would read the pop-up box.

If I didn't, I would understand that WIS had a preventative measure in place, and I simply didn't pay attention.

Like I said, I don't care about this one particular circumstance, but alleviating personal accountability for screwing up isn't a precedent I think WIS should set.  Where do they draw the line?

Unless I'm wrong, you can only rescind between rollover and signings, right?

I'm not sure there is ever a totally obvious mistake during or near recruiting.  I'm not saying it wasn't, I'm sure it was, but how can WIS really know that you didn't just regret making some dumb, drunk strategic decision right before or during recruiting?

Anyway, that's not my point.  It's that WIS now has forced themselves to draw some arbitrary line on user "misclicks."

Exactly, vandy.
