the CAC South in Naismith just had:

champ
final 4
2nd round
2nd round
PI first rd
No postseason, but a SIM who went 10-0 noncon, 0-17 the rest of the way.

I guess it's not quite as good, but it's close. and the other division had an Elite 8 team and 1st and 2nd round losers and a PI team.  The conference as a whole also just crushed the all-time d3 RPI mark (breaking our own record).
that is a great season, definitely close. i guess my only hesitation would be... how many people are in d3 naismith? if its dead like tark, or alive and well, that would make a pretty big difference, i think. but in any case, congrats on the record setting d3 rpi season! i think we did the same in d2 but i haven't checked yet...

Naismith is alive and well in d3. Tons of good coaches/teams there. I'd say a close second to Wooden for overall quality, but of course those are the only 2 worlds I'm in.

well, then, very nicely done! not to say it wouldn't have been impressive in either case. but if you said you had a 50 man division, i would have been a little less impressed ;) im not sure any are quite that bad, but i think tark d3 was in the 60s shortly after i left, which was pretty depressing... no idea how it is now. i wouldnt care if i didnt love tark d2 so much, i really hope it has gotten a bit better :O

I'd love to move over at some point but I dont have another name eligible for d2 in tark.. prolly just join d3 and then give it a go next season.

I looked, and there are ~150 humans in Naismith, ~180 in Wooden.

anyways, i think this is an interesting study on two pretty good coaches go about stuff differently.
