I am not an expert by any means, but we all have the same limited experience with the new engine and new recruits. So lets look at the participants in the discussion:
Mamxet - 3 BCS teams
Sully - 2 BCS teams
Atrain - 2 seasons of D1 experience
Moy - 1 BCS team
Dahsdebater - 0 D1 experience
So since the implementation of new recruits, how can any of you argue the process when you don't have to go through it?
Did any of you lose a 590 rated player to a C+ BCS school?
reading is fundamental - rather than say that someone cant "argue the process" one might read and even try to think about what the posts said
this thread began with a report of three facts - only one midmajor in sweet sixteen, an upset and win over a 10 seed - I questioned what this DATA meant and what the poster thought was a problem among the facts that he reported
one does not have to coach a mid major to count or to understand the game
this thread doesnt discuss difficulties of recruiting at mid majors and I certainly didnt discuss them - before you respond to people by saying they have no basis for what they say, consider what they actually said
you seem to think that one data point shows there is a problem - you dont need to be a weatherman to know that its raining and you dont need to be a statistician to know that one datapoint shows little
I also draw to your attention my post earlier in which I said:
"digging beneath the sarcasm, were you troubled that a 2 point favorite lost - that does happen a lot, right, in real world and in HD
were you troubled that mid major beat a 10 seed from SEC - seems reasonable to me
one mid major in the sweet 16 seems light, if it were sustained pattern it would suggest that there is a problem"
and having only BCS teams means that I am not qualified to say this because???? do fill in this blank with a reason please
