Six of the coaches in Conference-USA formerly coached at a BCS school


Larry Eustachy- So. Mississippi  (resigned from Iowa St. after the coed drinking scandal)
 Tim Floyd –UTEP (resigned from USC in 2009 during NCAA investigation)
  Matt Doherty- SMU  (fired at No. Carolina in 2003)
 Jeff Lebo- E.Carolina (fired by Auburn in 2010)
  Ben Braun- Rice  (fired by Cal in 2008)
 James Dickey- Houston (fired from Texas Tech in 2001)
Mike Davis – UAB (resigned under pressure from Indiana in 2006)

 I was also surprised to learn that Kentucky and South Carolina are Conference-USA members for soccer only.    In rowing,  Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Kansas St., Tennessee and Alabama are members.

interesting. kentucky being a part of them, however small, puts Conf USA up a notch in my book. that puts them at notch 1.

Rowing reminds me of the response from the Clemson AD when asked if they planned on adding crew as a varsity sport.
