Decline in ratings Topic

I have a player on my Lane team, Tom Ives, who with a 47 work ethic has declined 4 pts in LP over the course of this past season. Yes, he has 0 minutes in LP, but I did not think he could decline 4 points in one season. Am I wrong here?

I assume he wasn't even close to being maxed out in LP, and had a nice LP base? I had a 73 def low potential SG lose 2 pts over 20 games and have seen bigs lose 2-3pts in bh/passing with 0 min.

FWIW, I did send a ticket to CS and they responded, "You have 0 practice minutes for him in low post, so yes he will decline in that area. If you just put a few minutes into it, the decline will be minimal or nothing."

pitino, I'll typically keep 3 minutes in any rating that a guy is either tapped out in or just a rating that I'm not targeting but do not want to see decline either.

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
once you get the message from the assistant saying he is maxed you can leave 0.  If you do it before that he will drop.

To answer your actual question, obviously yes, you are wrong.  If you weren't wrong it wouldn't have happened.
If I wanted a smart comment from someone, I would've said so in my OP. Thanks for your lack of insight. I have almost 20 seasons of experience and 4 championships so I'm not an idiot or a newbie for that matter. I have not seen this happen before with 0 minutes in any other player with categories that haven't capped before in the past 19 seasons so I was trying to get some insight like "this has happened to me before" kind of response. Not that I even cared about the decline really. Just had not seen it before and was seeing if it was a problem/glitch.

No practice time + little PT + mediocre we + not maxed out in that category = a drop in that rating. Not trying to be sarcastic here, because I'm not totally sure what you're asking. But yes, that kind of drop is certainly possible and does happen.

I was under the impression that you had to leave 7 practice minutes for all categories except LP and PE and they could be set to 4 to keep a player at his cap. Have I been misled in that information? And conditioning can be almost anything.

I hate that e-mail that says your freshman SG has maxed out in Per... lol

I get that. 4 points seemed a little dramatic is what I was saying. I was trying to find out if anyone else had experienced that big of a drop or not. I understand the formula that you mentioned and am well aware of it. If a 4 point decrease is natural for someone with decent work ethic, then fine I am willing to live with it. I just didn't appreciate the smart comment from the person above.  At the end of my last post was that I was trying to find out if this was a problem or not, that's all. The "Am I wrong here" in my OP was more or less rhetorical, but perhaps it should've been worded a bit different.

Another team in my conference used to set a lot of practice categories to 0 for freshmen and sophomores and I frequently saw his guys drop between 2 and 5 points in categories...  Is that a better answer?

I've always left 3 minutes into any category that couldn't get any better and rarely do I ever see a guy lose points. I have in the case of low WE and when that happened I bumped him up to get the points back and then left 5 minutes in and the drop in rating points stopped.

you have been misled, you can use 0 minutes in capped out categories. technically, they might still be declining, but it is such as low pace (probably a tenth of a point or less per season) that you should not worry about it.

you are wasting those 3 minutes, unless you dont have significant room for improvement elsewhere.
