I know this has been said before but what RPI range do you need to make it to the national tornament? Also, what RPI range does it take to make it to the invitational tornament? Thanks for answers!!!!

The best 64 teams make the NT ... the next 32 make the PI.

So, in general you would want to be higher than 64 RPI or 96 RPI to get into each one.

RPI is not the only factor though, so there are some teams at the bottom of the RPI range that get passed over for teams outside the range.

Also note that you've got all the conference champions who get in. The more conference champions at 65 or lower, the higher the threshold for getting into the tournament as an at-large bid.

You would want to be at least in the high 50s. Teams with lower rpi might win CTs and stuff.

In the just completed DII tourney in Rupp, the worst at-large team was 19-9, RPI 66.   There weren't a lot of CT upsets. Only two CT champions teams in the field (RPIs #68 and #144) were   worse than 66.

The worst PIT team was RPI 94

Alblack, your info doesn't make any sense.  By which I mean that unless you're judging "worst" by something other than RPI, your numbers are impossible.  There are 96 postseason teams.  You have the "worst" (worst RPI?) team in the PIT being 94.  And only one team in the NT with a worse RPI than that.  That suggests 95 or fewer postseason teams.

My bad...the worst RPI in the PIT was #95, not #94.  So the 96 teams in the post-season were the top 95 plus #144, which won their CT
