If you get a recruit who is Uneligible and there was another recruit who you wanted to redshirt, is it possible to have an uneligible player and a redshirted player the same season?

the ineligible guy decides whether or not to show up at the instant recruiting is over - before you would actually redshirt anyone

So the ineligible recruit might not even join your team and go play ball at junior college or something??? I did not know that about ineligible players

in D3 the ineligble can play right away.  
in D1 & D2, they sit out one season with no inseason improvement.  (if they don't go Juco)

You are mistaken.  I've heard of guys sinking $50k into a recruit only to have them go juco.  And yes, I've had ineligibles and reshirts in the same year.  I've even redshirted an ineligible.  Of course, it was at D3.

Ive spent 12K plus in d2 on them and had them bail.  Ive offered starts also bailed.  Ive given boosters bailed.  I think ive tried it all.  I thought the start was it but then one bailed

There was a pretty funny post about 6 months ago that read "an open letter to so and so".  It was from a frustrated owner who had sunk a ton of money into a recruit who also listed his school as his childhood favorite and still went juco.
