778 Highest rated D3 player ever? Topic

I figure somebody has had to have a higher rated D3 player (besides the old days when for a brief stint D3 coaches could pull down D1 players) but I know I've never seen anybody with a higher rating and neither have my conference mates.

I think it is. I have a guy that is at 609 halfway through his So season, w/o a RSProbably gonna be a little short by his SR year but if he got the RS, he might break 800.

Teach me, oh wise one, so that I, too, may have this power!

Seriously...how do you get a guy like that at D3? I'm patting myself on the back for a job well done when I have a senior in the low/mid 600s. How are you getting a sophomore there? Am I not being aggressive enough in my attempts at D2 pulldowns?

That said, the point guard on last year's national championship in Naismith was up there pretty good. Can't remember his overall rating, but he graduated at 73-99 for athleticism/speed I thnk and was just a beast.

Pre-potential (when there were no caps) it wasn't too uncommon to see D3 players in the 700s (high WE + redshirt season, typically).  But that guy would certainly be among the best I can remember seeing.

Just lucky, I suppose. But one thing I realized is that scouting reports are extremely useful. There is a world of difference between high-high and just high.

This is the player I am talking about:

Best D3 player I've ever had is only a RS Soph this year.  Should end up around 675-700 when all is said and done with an A for FT's.

Hansen's rating is going to end up being close to Pratt's, that's pretty insane.

The new update helps answer this question and it's no. He's at 781 and the season just started.

Imagine how good he'd be if that team had a human coach

"Transfered from Purdue," wow.  A Big 6 recruit goes to a D3 school. Yeah, I'd expect him to dominate.  It's kind of like that dodgeball scene in Billy Madison.

Yea I've seen a couple of D3 transfers coming from D1 schools. It's usually crappy Sim signings, which shows how bad some of the D1 recruits are that they transfer and become D3 recruits.

Thompson came from Clemson...he's going to be a great D3 guy, but was definitely not going to be anything special at D1....and as you mentioned it was a SIM that signed him at Clemson before last season.
