Does that not work anymore? I rescind a scholly on a kid but he is still considering me when I dont want him to. I know he wont sign with me but I wont him off my list as now I look like I am way overextended and anyone in their right mind would try and steal my recruits.

I tried to offer a redshirt year to the people that i rescinded on that are still considering me, but is there any surefire way to get a kid to stop considering you after you rescind the scholly?

Man, sounds like you are set, you have some players that will take a redshirt!     

you can offer them a RS and rescind the scholarship, thats about it.

Last time I rescinded an offer, the recruit stopped considering me for a while.  But by the time the signing deadline drew closer, he put me back on his list again.

I just ignored it.  He was a backup-backup plan anyway.  

Do other coaches actually count the number of players who are considering you so they can steal recruits?  That's kind of cheesy, isn't it?

It's not about stealing recruits; it's about determining whether or not it's a good idea to go into battle.

si having a kid considering you who you have no interest in and no more $$ obligation to could be a form of subterfuge to entice opponents to waste money fighting you when they shjould, in fact, find an easier target - unless, you've had something go wrong and you are, perhaps, overextended and feeling vulnerable, in which case pointing it out might be an error - or, I've been reading too many conspiracy websites and hitting the peace pipe too hard...you sdecide?
