Back to the topic ... the Game Plan reset glitch.

I had something happen for the first time today and I thought I would share it.

I have a new team in one world (Lets call them TeamA).

I had the Team Game Plan screen open on TeamA.  I wanted to compare these settings and update them based on what I am doing with another team I coach, TeamB, in another world.

So, I opened another window and navigated to TeamB, Team Game Plan screen.  Now I have 2 open tabs, one on TeamA and the Other on TeamB and both are on their Team Game Plan screen.  I adjusted TeamA to have settings similar to TeamB (except they run different Offenses and Defenses).  Then I clicked submit for the TeamA Team Game Plan.  And what happened next surprised me ... instead of updating TeamA, it updated TeamB to the settings I put in on the TeamA form (that is, the wrong Offense and Defense, the ones selected for TeamA and transferred to TeamB).

At first I was confused, but this is exactly what I should have expected as I had opened the TeamB window last, so all the session variables for this session were pointing to TeamB.

So, be very careful to not have more than one browser tab open for one team at a time as the last one you log into is the one where changes will try to be registered.

i think you are describing a separate issue. what you are saying makes sense, but does not explain all the settings resorting to the base values.

it is an interesting further example of ways in which user error can screw up a game plan - I bet I have done this one also!

Right ... this is a similar, but different issue.

What could cause a "zeroing out" though would be a disconnection while trying to update the record (you hti save and then closed your browser before it completed or lost your Internet connection mid-update) or not being able to select the record from the database.  In one case you have no record in the database for your team any more (it removed the other one and died on the update) and in the other case it looks like you have no data as the select came back empty.  Both of those would cause the defaults to be used.

so, the lesson is that if I really want to be sure I need to leave the game plan page and then go back and see that it shows what I intended it to show?
