Maxed Out Question Topic

When you guys get the e-mail saying a rating is maxed out, what do you set it at to keep from skill deterioration?

is that facetious?

A lot of coaches use '0' with no ill effects. The maximum you'd need, however, is 3 for LP and PER; 7 for everything else.   You can always add minutes back if you see a drop.  For FTs, I stay at 8.

I use 0 and have never had a rating decrease. Some coaches like to keep some minutes there but I think it's a waste.

I use zero, except for FT where I go to 8 - if anyone consistently goes lower on FT without a hit would love to know

Now and then I see ratings drop one point and I pop a few minutes back into the category - depending on how important it is and where he stands in other categories,

If it's a player with a lower we, it wouldn't be surprising to see a drop. A player with a solid we should be OK at 0 on a maxed out category (except ft; I haven't had the guts to go to 0 on that, so I'm not sure).

I have a guy on my team that has seen no visible drop on FT with 0 minutes for over a season and a half. He does, however, have outstanding work ethic, 91.

Yeah, with a 91 we I wouldn't be worried about it. Part of the issue w. ft is that it takes longer to make a move that's actually visible, so it's much harder to know if it's dropping. It's totally possible that you can maintain a maxed-out ft rating using 0 mins with an average we player, I just haven't had the stones to find out (and again, actually figuring it out is kind of tough).

I have only see drops in rollover with 0, after maxing out. And that was from 100 to 99, and he never dropped again afterwards.

mets/girt - i go with 0 minutes on free throw shooting all the time and never have had a problem with it (although, i have put guys at low, not maxed, at 0, and forgotten to change it for a few seasons, and that did not go as smoothly :(
