What reasons could there be for a player declining promises (of a start and of minutes)?

I'm being considered by a recruit who is also considering someone else, and I was hoping the promise of a start and/or minutes could help me lock the recruit up, but - while he allows a home visit and a campus visit - he declines both promises. What am I missing? Any tips?

Also, can anyone help me out with how much more influential a campus visit is as compared to a home visit?

I've heard a campus visit is worth 2.25 home visits - which at the distance I am dealing with makes home visits a better value - but I've also heard a campus visit is worth 2.5 home visits - which at the distance I am dealing with makes the campus visit a better value. Hence my dilemma.

He just prefers St. Johns, man. sorry.

Hell, if he's that dumb he could never learn my offensive and defensive sets anyway, so I'm better off with him trying to play PG for my opponent. 

ha! I just checked out your other recruit - ballsy move to try to pull down a DII guy who's considering a DII human coached team. he's a stud though.

I need someone to matchup against the D2 talent you're gonna poach from that Sim.

Any idea why my guy won't accept promises? It's the one thing I can offer that the other squad seemingly can't (he has a senior-laden team returning).

Not absurdly high, actually, but just an all-around good player. If I land him, he should have a good shot at being on one of the all-conference teams one or two times during his career.

Do you have any idea of why he would reject promises even though he is considering me and accepting home & campus visits?

I've found on numerous occasions a recruit will decline minutes if I'm behind in a battle.

You just need to put more $ into him.  The irony is, he'll accept the promises once he decides to play for you.
